Song Lyric Sunday, Personal Pronouns.

Our esteemed host Jim Adams said. “Personal pronouns are not limited to people, as they can also be used to refer to animals and objects and they are often divided into groups, either being object or subject pronouns.  The subject pronouns include I, he, she, you, it, we, and they, while the object pronouns include me, you, him, her, them, us, and it.  This week  I/Me/Them/Us/You/We is our prompt”

So what sprang to mind ? Us and them by Pink Floyd.

Us and Them” is a song by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd, from their 1973 album The Dark Side of the Moon. The music was written by Richard Wright with lyrics by Roger Waters. It is sung by David Gilmour, with harmonies by Wright. The song is 7 minutes and 51 seconds, the longest on the album. “Us and Them” was released as the second single from The Dark Side of the Moon in the United States, peaking at No. 72 on the Cash Box Top 100 Singles chart in March 1974.[3] The single peaked at No. 85 in the Canadian chart.[4]Information from Wiki.

This Album was released the year my eldest son was born strangely enough one of his favourite bands through the years had been Pink Floyd… Maybe be heard the Floyd in the womb!

I am feeling a tad low today so let’s have one of “let’s get our spirits up songs” This time it is We are Giants by Take That lol that should show how eclectic my taste in music is πŸ€“

Giants” is a song recorded by English band Take That for their eighth studio album, Wonderland (2017). It was written by Gary BarlowHoward DonaldMark Owen, Jamie Norton, and Ben Mark, while the production was done by Mark Ralph. It was released as the lead single from Wonderland on 17 February 2017 through Polydor Records.

We’re all giants, I can’t believe it
We were giants all along
On the surface and all around us
We are giants, we are strong
I see you standing, see you dancing
On the pavement, in the park
We are giants, can you feel it?
So much bigger than we thought

I think I might be heading out of body
I’ve gotta love, you gotta love somebody

When I look in your eyes
I’m bigger than the night sky
As high as the sun, hard as a stone
We are giants, we are giants
We are giants

There are giants across the water
There are giants heading home
In the middle of the madness
There are giants being born

I feel us breaking out of empty glory
I’ve gotta love, you gotta love somebody like you

When I look in your eyes
I’m bigger than the night sky
As high as the sun, hard as a stone
We are giants, we are giants
When I look in your eyes
I’m bigger than the night sky
As high as the sun, hard as a stone
We are giants, we are giants

We are giants in our hearts
We are giants, every one of us
We are giants in our hearts
We are giants, we are giants

When I look in your eyes
I’m bigger than the night sky
As high as the sun, hard as a stone
We are giants, we are giants
We are giants
We are giants
As high as the sun, hard as a stone
We are giants, we are giants
We are giants

So we have, Us and Them and We and I. Have a great day everyone πŸ’œ

Classic share from Pink Floyd! Not familiar with Take That, but nice, high energy song.

One of the band members looks like a young Russell Crowe. πŸ˜„

Love Pink Floyd and this was one of my favourite albums of the year. Oh that saxophone solo! I don’t have it now, though a friend put it and The Wall on a double CD for me.
I like a lot of Gary Barlow’s stuff too. His ballads are terrific.

Us and Them is worth every instance of the 7 minutes and 51 seconds that it takes to listen to this. Giants by Take That is a great pick me up song, thanks for adding that.

I loved both of these, Willow. I was in the Air Force in 1973 and Dark Side of the Moon was a classic album which I listened to constantly.
Giants is new to me, but I love it!

I like Gary. Did you ever see the documentary he made visiting troops in the Middle East? Very good and shows what a great guy he is.

When I saw that prompt in the list last week I immediately thought of Us and Them and almost used it this week. Glad you chose it. The lyrics say so much. The album is one of the greatest of all time!
