Colleen’s Weekly Tuesday Tanka. 7/Jan/20

It’s the first of the month here at Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka and you know what that means! Poets, choose your own syllabic poetry form, theme, words, images, etc. It’s up to you!

Well as it is my choice I have decided to write a Tanka on the promise of Spring. A play on Hope Springs Eternal.

Brave Start.

Bare almost extinct

Tired, at the old year’s ending.

In hibernation

Nature’s spring hope’s eternal

New life giving life to all

The Mix

She picked the stars up like dice and threw them once and threw twice. Till they were scattered in the skies, an amazing mix to beguile the eye.

Then colouring a deep indigo she made a stunning backdrop for the stars to show. There was such a stunning light and she decided to call it night.

She spread her arms out far and wide and defied any soul to reach the other side. All day she played at this and every now an then she would ignite a sun with just a kiss.

Galaxy after Galaxy she set out within  her being. She was unsure if she was travelling to, or fleeing. Then she had a mad idea, made a planet green and blue and planted the seed for me and you.

Eventually she got bored and looked for some new employment she made oceans and land and all of that was fine and grand. But as she was growing tired she made something less inspired. From within her tired mind she created mankind.

She threw him into the mix, a mistake she never managed to fix.

Laying a trail…

Dreams can come true.

I pulled the camper-van into the parking spot and woke my companion. While he set about making coffee in the snazzy little kitchen, I rummaged in the storage compartment for the tool kit and another sign. We had done well so far, fixing the new signage to their designated posts across the length and breadth of Scotland.  Continue reading at Source
