Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 158 #PhotoPrompt

Hi everyone it’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka Challenge. It’s the middle of the month challenge ~ time for a photo prompt! This month we will use a photo chosen by last month’s “Photo-Prompt” Poet of the Week ~ Merril D. Smith.

I have chosen to do an etheree. I looked up the photo. It discribed as a flower on a piece of areogel which is protecting the flower from a Bunsen burner. I see my soul as the flower, the areogel as my Guardian Angel, and the Bunsen burner as the sins of the world.

My

Soul held

In your care

Shielded with love

From the fires of hell

You keep me safe from sin

My beloved guardian

However intense the danger

Your wings keep me safe from the world’s harm

You care for me and I bathe in your calm.

Mary and Jo Part 17

Today is the seventeenth day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry

The children of the staff, of Hotel Delph were happily helping Mares make a paper chains, they asked her to tell them about her angel again. She smiled and told them they all had a guardian angels of their own who watched over them and kept them safe when they were out and when they were at home.

The Children loved this idea they all started searching around. Where are all the angels, there are none here? Mares smiled and said you can not see them but have no fear they are always with you they are always here .

Irena and Annya had both got out their medical books they both sat in the staffroom books open on obstetrics, taking a look. They were both ready for almost anything and prayed to God above to let it go with a swing. The others all felt the buzz something was in the air they all wanted to help and were elated to feel that they really did care.

The lady up the road was sitting in her room still singing happily she was sewing the jacket up it would be on the baby soon. Her cat was playing with the dog next door sitting together on the floor. She smiled at them thinking that if you did not know better it looked as if they were talking, as if they were in the know.

There was something in the air, expectancy was everywhere. As the children were tucked into their beds the words of Mares gently echoed in their heads. It certainly made for happy dreams because for the children Mares had only said so much and covered that in sugar and cream.
As for the future, she foresaw, she told herself look no more the child is not yet born, no point to worry on what is to come no point to sorrow and mourn.
