To day is the eighth day of Advent, leading up to Christmas. I would like to re-run my take on the Nativity story. I first wrote this in 2011, in the style of prosetry.
The children were whispering, whispering the good news. They would go and visit soon in groups of maybe ones and twos! They were excited at the whisper of the imminent new birth they knew he was different but as yet they did not know his worth.
The adults were intrigued some of the teachers even got rather peeved, no one was paying attention in class and they could get from them was what might might come to pass. The grown ups should of listened more, but that is the grown up’s way. They really should of listened as the children had so much of importance to say.
The children of the staff at the Hotel Delph had been the first to know a king was to be born. Yet not a king of worldly ways.
The grown ups tried to hide them from the children’s stare but Mares and Jo were happy to have them stay. The staff thought this was lovely, yes it really was just great free child care all day everyday even if it was short term, especially at zero rate.
Now I know this may seem rather strange and maybe not nice but all the cockroaches, rats and mice all decided that while Mares and Jo were there they would disappear. The cleaners were delighted and so were the cooks they could not believe the fact that every where was sparkling .
Our three astronomers where comfortable on their plane and Balthasar was fending off Herod.com again. This guy is becoming a nuisance this guy is bad for sure.
There was something unclean about him, something hard and mean they all regretted their dealings with him.
Herod wanted to know of all male births maybe now you can fill in the spaces. Evil Herod was working on an app to map all boys aged under one year. He was going to kill them all, he’d not shed a tear.
Back in David’s room, Mares and Jo were holding court, the children had all brought their pets. There were dogs and cats and mice, a gerbil too and believe it or not a lamb and a tiny piglet . I kid you not, it is true.
A mixed bag
