The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 16/19

It time for Stream of Consciousness Saturday and I am late this week! Our lovely host Linda G Hill said : “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “dream.” Use it as a noun or a verb; use any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Strangely as it happens I had a really bad night last night full of very uncomfortable dreams. All the time I was plagued with an awful headache. Well the headache turned out to be real I still have it now, half way through my day.

Back to my dreams which were interspersed with me waking and lying there wondering what was going on and why does my head hurt so much. So in these dreams I was traveling but getting nowhere, I was delayed and even aggressively held back at points. To make matters worse there were bloggers I know in these dreams and they were telling me that the event I was traveling too had been cancelled. This really caused me great distress.

So here I am coping with a very busy day and an unwell dog feeling very uneasy and battling with a massive headache.

Enough moaning you don’t come here to read moans! I can’t change what I have written as this is SoCs so let’s through together a little poem on the dream.

Dreams can be scary
Mad and hairy
They can be lucid
Or even fridged
Dream can arouse and please
Or they can disquiet and tease
They should be gone by first light
They should be the order of the night
So why is it my present plight
To be haunted by night frights

This moan was brought to you care of SoCs rules and ping back here.

I had the same kind of night. I don’t have a headache, but my brain is tired from all the work it did all night long trying to figure out why I couldn’t sleep! I hope you get to nap today and that your dog is okay too. Your poem hits it the mark perfectly!

Thank you Shelley, I know I am not alone but headache doesn’t help. Ruby the dog is okay but has arthritis and has had a runny tummy for a week now …she is a Labrador and not impressed that she is on short rations of. Chicken and rice and not her normal dried food. I hope you have a good weekend. 💜💜

You are 100% spot on about dreams, Willow. I don’t usually dream but when my son is sick, I have nightmares that he dies.

If one is suffering with some physical ailment, it comes out very real in the dreams. Specially a headache.

Intense dreams always give me a morning headache. I hope you are feeling better now or soon. It might be interesting to imagine alternative outcomes for your dream scenarios. You were traveling but not getting anywhere, until a giant eagle or pelican, or flying unicorn came along and carried you where you needed to go and. you got exactly what you needed to make your head feel better. You can make up anything and it’s just as valid as a dream, in my humble opinion. Take care. I’m wishing you sweet dreams and restful sleep.

My brain definitely works overtime at night, trying to make sense of the crazy in my real life. The nuttier things get, the stranger my dreams are.

Hi Willow, I don’t envy you your headache or confused dream!. Do you recall any dreams from your childhood? I was evacuated in WW2 aged seven and recall being found by my aunt, upside down, half out of bed, having been rescued from a huge water tank, having had bricks tied to my ankles and ties to my wrists by witches (from Brothers Grimm tales no doubt.) It must have been horrific to still remember it.. Hey ho..xx

Oh! my goodness that is awful, poor you . I do remember one recurring dream from my childhood. Always the same dream, I had no home and nowhere to go, I was walking through these alleyways ( like the ones near where I lived then) and a strange woman draped in a long black robe with a cowl hood was following me, I could see her as she passed under the street lamps. It has lessened but I have had it in my adult life too in times of stress. It has left me with a fear of homelessness. Strange what the mind does to us. 💜

The cost of being writers, I guess Willow…(I’ve even had a mad dream where an ARMY OF VIKINGS TURNED UP FOR TEA. TRULY!) X
