Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 153 #SynonymsOnly

It’s Tuesday again and time for Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka. This week our prompts are Grace and Style. I have written a Tanka about Thanksgiving. Using, ‘give thanks’ for Grace and ‘as pilgrims did for’ Style.

 Join me for this meal
Lets give thanks as pilgrims did
They survived hard times
They left their homes full of hope
Enjoy fruits of first harvest.

This is part of Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka.

    PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

    They said not a word
For not a word need be said
    A cloud of silence
    Always accompanied them
Others looked on bathed in awe

Beautiful how you expressed their hopes, success, and big efforts and courage in one poem.

It’s not what I expected from the Tanka Tuesday prompt, and I’m delightfully surprised. Happy Thanksgiving season!
