Nuts can mean that you are insane, mad,deranged or just plain stupid. It can apply to a person, thing or even a plan. Nuts can also just be nuts as in the peanut, hazel, brazil, walnut, pecan, pine nuts…need I go on?
Nutshell now here is an interesting word, it can mean at face value or just mean the shell a nut comes in. You need to use a nutcracker to open nuts because their shells are so hard! Mind you there is no point in trying to use nutcrackers on coconuts, no they need something much stronger, machete , hammer and chisel or an axe…too dangerous let us not go there. Anyway nutcrackers doesn’t count as its only nut and not nuts! Unlike Nutshell which is nuts. Now you can also say “That’s it in a nutshell” that means that is the essence of a thing or the concise meaning of something or even the whole thing in a short version. For instance. “He broke the door as he left, then drove off in the car, crashed it broke his leg and ended up in hospital…that’s it in a nutshell.”
Now this post is driving me nuts because it has taken me ages to write because I have to keep stopping to , get up, walk the dog, have breakfast, clean up , prepare to go out and just stay sane! So here is the finished article , unedited but that is what SoCs is all about isn’t it. So have a good Saturday and don’t go NUTS!
