Tell me what am I to do I am such a Klutz it's true. Each time I open my mouth Everything starts flying south. Discretion is the better part of Valor My discrete brings on an angry parlor! Just what am I to do to keep on track And escape the extra flack.
Tell me what am I to say To make the anger clouds go away? I am such a thorn in your side That our temperaments just collide? I can only try to do my best I'm not always the naughty pest. Maybe you should lighten up a tad Then maybe I would not make you so mad!
It’s Friday again and time for our #SoCs prompt from LindaGHill. She said: ” Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “shade.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!”
Shade, she craved it longed for it and needed it. The pain in her eyes she hid with sunshades, the pain in her body, like a thousand blades she hid in alcohol. Her life was now a thousand shades of grief. At night she hid behind a book under the lampshade never wanting to share her bitterness she shaded her feelings.
For visually challenged writers, theimage shows green fields leading to distant, snow-covered hills, lit with the pink-gold glow of sunset.

Looking out from the ramparts of the castle Ewan looked out across the land protected by the witches spell to the evil winter beyond. He was almost his old self again but beneath his brave exterior he was still deeply affected by the horrors of that last battle. The screams, the blood the noise the absolute horror invaded his waking moments and his dreams.
The two witches and the new armies of men dwarves and elves had so raised his spirits and he was almost his old self again. He had been helping with the training of the troops, the elves, master bowmen, were happy to train men and dwarves, dwarves skilled axe and swordmen trained the elves and men and the men helped with tactics something especially the dwarves never really took into account. They always thought noise and brute strength would carry them through.
Lisa was delighted to be back for a while and being able to be with Hope was more than she had hoped for when they had left the castle for the first time. Though her heart yearned for Calador and Rachel to be safe within these castle walls. As she looked to the mountains covered in snow she saw a murder of Crows approaching from afar what news did they bring.
I send this happy greeting out to all my American friends and readers all over the world who are celebrating Thanksgiving today. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Please say a prayer for those less fortunate out there.
This week you have a choice. You can write about the #Theme of Thanksgiving (thankful, grateful, family, etc. whatever that word means to you)
OR
here are your two words for this week:
“End & Hurry”
Hopefully they travelled Across the Atlantic Ocean Praying for safe delivery Pleased at first sight of land Yearning for all they had left behind Thankful to be safely delivered Hopeful of a brave new world Aching in soul and body No one shirked their duties Kindred spirits they worked together Spring, Summer and Autumn brought their hardships Giving thanks to their God Indians watched them from afar Vainly struggling in a hostile world In fear they struggled but Never giving up they reached harvest God saw them through and they gave thanks.
So as I did an Acrostic poem which is not within our remit so here is a Tanka. A synonymous Tanka not using the words End and Hurry.
Thanksgiving Tanka It comes to a close The year gently closing down Only to speed up Thanksgiving with family It all ends so happily.
This week’s prompt from Jim Adams for Song Lyric Sunday, November 24, 2019 is Bounty/Dessert/Eat/Feast/Food/Hungry/Turkey. I have chosen the word Eat.
This week I have chosen part of Kate Bush’s film The Line,The Cross and The Curve. The part I have chosen is called Eatthe music. The Line, the Cross and the Curve is a 1993 British musical short film directed by and starring singer Kate Bush, co-starring Miranda Richardson and choreographerLindsay Kemp, who had served as dance mentor to Bush early in her career.
This short film is essentially an extended music video featuring songs from Bush’s 1993 album, The Red Shoes, which in turn was inspired by the classic movie musical-fantasy The Red Shoes.
In this version of the tale, Bush plays a frustrated singer-dancer who is enticed by a mysterious woman (Miranda Richardson) into putting on a pair of magical ballet slippers. Once on her feet, the shoes start dancing on their own, and Bush’s character (who is never referred to by name) must battle Richardson’s character to free herself from the spell of the shoes. Her guide on this strange journey is played by Kemp. The film was released direct-to-video in most areas and was only a modest success; Kate Bush later expressed her displeasure with the final product, calling it “a load of bollocks”.[1] Soon after its release, Bush effectively dropped out of the public eye until her eighth studio album, Aerial, was released in November 2005.Two years after the UK release, due to late promotion in the US, the film was nominated for the Long Form Music Video at the 1996 Grammy Awards.
Here is the whole film for you to enjoy. I absolutely adore this film and I hope you do.
"Eat The Music"
Split me open With devotion You put your hands in And rip my heart out Eat the music
Does he conceal What he really feels? He's a woman at heart And I love him for that Let's split him open
Like a pomegranate Insides out All is revealed Not only women bleed
Take the stone out Of the mango You put it in your mouth And pull a plum out
Take a papaya You like a guava? Grab a banana And a sultana Rip them to pieces With sticky fingers Split the banana Crush the sultana
Split 'em open With devotion You put your hands in And rip their hearts out
Like a pomegranate Insides out He's a woman at heart And love him for that
Take a papaya You like a guavva? Grab a banana And a sultana Rip 'em to pieces With sticky fingers Split the banana Crush the sultana
All emotion And with devotion You put your hands in What ya thinking? What am I singing? A song of seeds The food of love Eat the music Lyrics fro A to Z Lyrics
As a child the story of the Red Ballet Shoess by Hans Christian Andersen was one of my favourite stories even though it scared me rigid. I even wrote my own version in verse here.Happy Sundayto you all
It’s Saturday and yesterday LindaGHill gave us our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday or #SoCs if you prefer. Our Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “flyer/ad.” Look at the latest ad you got in the mail (if it’s a store flyer, choose the product right in the middle of the page) or choose the next online ad you find, and theme your post on whatever the product is. Do not name the brand if you hate it, unless you add that it’s an opinion/review of the product in question. You don’t want to chancegetting sued.
Why do I love this advert so much Is it the little redhead that adds the magic touch. Or is it excitable Edgar that reals me in With cute flaming nostrils and scaly dragon skin. It’s not because I worked for them in an earlier life Waitrose to precise where customers caused me strife. Or the beautiful perfect Christmas cheer that it portrays My dreams of all that happiness has long been blown away. Is it the food and decorations concealed within the story All the company’s Christmas fair displayed in all its glory. Is the plaintiff song, sung in a hopeful tone The guys voice, or the way it’s sung that gets me heart and bone. Or is the two pregnant pauses Before he bursts into song again wining my applauses. I don’t now what it is that makes love it so But like every year as always their advert is a winner.
This is a Disclaimer, I have nothing to do with John Lewis and Waitrose and partners. I just love the advert.
