It’s Sunday again and Jim Adams of NewEpicAuthor said : “The Song Lyric Sunday theme for this week to be a song that includes somebody famous in it.”
Well the first song that comes to mind is the wonderful history lesson We didn’t start the fire by Billy Joel. It is a virtual how’s how and what happened then of modern history. I think more than one person will choose this brilliant song.
Then there is the wonderful Rock on ,James Dean by the fabulous David Essex.
Next I have chosen Joan D’Arc by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark.
There are so many so I am just going to pick one more . Betty Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes
Oh!one more please High Flying Adored by Antonio Bandares and Madonna. From the Musical Evita which was about Eva PerΓ³n it was originally recorded by David Essex and Elaine Paige.
And the David Essex and Elaine Paige one .
Okay okay I am being greedy I will stop now. πππ
I hope you enjoy this I certainly did πππ

How wonderful it was you chose HIGH FLYING ADORED!
And 2 versions to compare/pick.
I have loved this song since February 1997 at least and it meant a heap to me in 2006.
I think I will focus on the Joan of Arc/Maid of Orleans connection.
[Maybe in the future Anne of the Thousand Days, Willow?]
I wonder if you know the Eagles and their take on James Dean?
Aug 11, 2019 @ 18:40:58
Yes I did know about the Eagles track but I do love David Essex as he is of my Era as are the Eagles but I had a huge crush on him π π
Aug 11, 2019 @ 18:54:52
I imagine many wonderful people had a crush on Essex. He had flip-floppy hair and these eyes like amber and chocolate.
Aug 11, 2019 @ 18:56:37
I adored him, as much as I loved the Eagles he was my hero, as was Donovan and Leo Sayer ππ
Aug 11, 2019 @ 19:33:32
You obviously have a good taste in heroes and comedians, Willow.
Leo Sayer – wow!
Aug 11, 2019 @ 19:41:05
Comedians ? I didn’t realize I had mentioned comedians πππ
Aug 11, 2019 @ 19:46:04
Great choices! Nice listening for me this afternoon. The first one by Billy Joel is my favorite.
Aug 11, 2019 @ 19:48:08

Aug 12, 2019 @ 00:28:06
Great choices, Willow. I especially like the Kim Carnes song.
Aug 12, 2019 @ 05:21:25
Yes Betty Davis Eyes is a great song π
