Carefree in fourteen words.

Hi Sammi this is my first visit here, via Dale 💜

Song Lyric Sunday. 30th June.

This week’s prompt from Jim Adams of NewEpicAuthor is Who/What/When/Where/Why/How.

Well I thought firstly what about Who , what, when, where by Manhattan Transfer. From 1978, it ticks all the boxes, well almost bar two.

Lyrics from A to Z Lyrics

Who, What, When, Where, Why”

Who (who ooh ooh ooh ooh)

What (woo ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Where (woo ooh ooh ooh ooh)
Why (tell me why, tell me why, tell me why…)

I don’t understand
Let’s sit down and talk
One minute you love me and then you walk
There’s more going on
Than you will admit
‘Cause just as we got it to work you quit

I’m caught in a fog
And you make it clear
The truth won’t be worse than the things I fear
It’s a mystery to me
I haven’t a clue
If somebody else has a part of you

Tell me
Who (who)
What when where why (why)
Who is the guy
What made you need someone new
Tell me
Who what when where why
When did it die
When’d we go wrong
Don’t you lie, tell me why

You won’t be my love
You won’t be my friend
But won’t you at least help me comprehend
What’s happening to me
‘Cause after you go
My one consolation will be to know
The places and names, the reason and rhymes
The facts of the matter and points in time
I tried for your love
But you won’t allow
This guy to do nothin’ but ask you how

And… Who (who)
What when where why (why)
Who is the guy
What made you need someone new
Tell me
Who what when where why
When did it die
When’d we go wrong
Don’t you lie, tell me why

I want you to say
What’s inside your head
Confession is good for the soul it’s said
So start at the top and take it real slow
If you want out, then I have to know

Just… Who (who)
What when where why (why)
Who is the guy
What made you need someone new
Tell me
Who what when where why
When did it die
When’d we go wrong
Don’t you lie, tell me why

But I have to pop in a other song here one that especially resonates with me. It Annie Lennox singing Why. The lyrics of this song are so often the pattern of my life. It a beautiful song. I am stronger now but it’s not always easy to be. So I am reaching out my hand to support anyone out there Male/ Female / Transgender/ Lesbian/ Gay whoever needs support.💜 Be strong be brave be yourself. All the wrongs in life are not always your fault.💜

How many times do I have to try to tell you
That I’m sorry for the things I’ve done
But when I start to try to tell you
That’s when you have to tell me
Hey… this kind of trouble’s only just begun
I tell myself too many times
Why don’t you ever learn to keep your big mouth shut
That’s why it hurts so bad to hear the words
That keep on falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Falling from your mouth
Tell me…
Why
Why
I may be mad
I may be blind
I may be viciously unkind
But I can still read what you’re thinking
And I’ve heard is said too many times
That you’d be better off
Besides…
Why can’t you see this boat is sinking
(this boat is sinking this boat is sinking)
Let’s go down to the water’s edge
And we can cast away those doubts
Some things are better left unsaid
But they still turn me inside out
Turning inside out turning inside out
Tell me…
Why
Tell me…
Why
This is the book I never read
These are the words I never said
This is the path I’ll never tread
These are the dreams I’ll dream instead
This is the joy that’s seldom spread
These are the tears…
The tears we shed
This is the fear
This is the dread
These are the contents of my head
And these are the years that we have spent
And this is what they represent
And this is how I feel
Do you know how I feel?
’cause i don’t think you know how I feel
I don’t think you know what I feel
I don’t think you know what I feel
You don’t know what I feel

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 29/19

LindaGHill said “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “for/fore/four.” Use one, use ’em all, use ’em any way you want. Enjoy!”

My middle son plays a lot of golf and he plays very well to, if I say so myself. So I went with a golfing theme.

Today’s #SoCs is a little Golfing Nonet. Image from Pixabay

Before you take that first shot shout fore

Don’t blindly let your golf ball soar

When using a five or four

Don’t make someone’s head sore

So for goodness sake

Give everyone

A safe break

Shout out

Fore

Ruby’s Washing Machine.

Ruby sleeping happily

She has a pressie from us you see.

It’s a new washing machine

Too keep her towels and blankets clean.

A funny gift for a beloved dog?

Strange subject for my blog?

I can’t put her things in our machine

Our clothes would no longer be clean.

They would all be covered by blond hair

On my best dress, no that’s not fair.

Her old machine finally broke

So she has a new one, bespoke.

So now Ruby will smell rosey

And sleep on clean bed, with blankets and towels clean and cosy.

We have always had a separate washing machine for Ruby as she moults so much our machine in the kitchen would not last long.

Last week the old machine we keep in the garage for her stuff gave up the ghost. Now Ruby has a newer washing machine than us? How does that work. 💜 Greater love .

Thursday photo prompt: Open #writephoto

For visually challenged writers, the monochrome image shows an empty corridor with several doors opening in a line, one after the other.

Monochrome

The early morning light crept along the corridor of the sleeping house. Trying hard not cause any disturbance, unfortunately not trying hard enough. Missing it’s footing the light stubbed it’s toe on the doorframe. Letting out a loud screech that would have woken the dead had it not been for the loud crash of the dawn breaking over the horizon.

Tiny jumping dust motes and mites bounced up and down rejoicing in another day. The light carried on along the corridor and through the doors entering each room gingerly.

The dark was cleaning it’s teeth in the bathroom as the light crept across the threshold. They nodded politely to each other as dark clocked out and light clocked in.

Just another day light thought to itself as it limped on.

This little piece of silliness was written for Sue Vincent’s #writephoto.
