The Gift.
It
Was so
Long ago
All else forgot
Except Meg had not.
A random kind gift
Which brought her so much pure joy
Given to her by a kind boy.
Lovingly she built a high tower
Wrung with steps so she could reach her flower
Twice daily she performed her blessed job
Once she was spry, now no longer fast
Rain or shine whatever season
She gave her whole to the task
For help she never asked
This was her life’s work
She would not shirk
Who gave her
The gift
God.
