Colleen’s Tuesday Tanka, Chocolate & Egg. 16/4/2019.

Colleen Chesebro is on Sabbatical, moving house for her health.. and that’s the truth.

Colleen said: “So, I’m asking my regular poetry challenge participants to keep writing a weekly poem until I get back. (No submission forms) Feel free to link to this post, or not, whatever works best for you. Choose your own words and keep using the syllabic forms: Haiku, Senryu, Haiga, Tanka, Haibun, Cinquain, Etheree, Nonet, and Shadorma. Choose your own words and just have fun. I’ll stop in and comment when I can.”

I have chosen two seasonal words Chocolate & Egg and of course I will use them synonymously. I have opted for a Tanka this week.

Confectionery

Celebrate the end of Lent.

Ovals of sweet joy.

Succulent, mouth watering

Death by this is ecstasy.

Phone box

The last rays of the sun lit the payphone bronze. Through the dirty window the pool still looked blue. Letters scratched into the glass their meaning long forgotten. Another abandoned motel in the middle of nowhere. No money to use the phone but there was no one to answer it.
