LindaGHill said. Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “fab.” Use it as a word or find a word beginning with “fab.” As always, use any way you’d like. Have fun!
Fabulously an Acrostic Poem
Full of promise full of life
Always running full of hype
Blessed with memories and joy
Unisex? Girl or boy
Little things we hold so dear
Out of this world far and near
Unending fun and fashion sense
Sing the old songs sing the new
Living happy not in fear
You and me fab and gear.
And now for something completely different.
After the second world war, due to heavy bombing there was an acute shortage of housing. Here in the UK the solution was envisaged by war-time prime minister Winston Churchill in March 1944, and legally outlined in the Housing (Temporary Accommodation) Act 1944.
Quickly built homes for all those made homeless by the Blitz, they were the perfect solution to the post war problem . The were single story prefabricated homes. The populous affectionately called them the prefab.

Fun, and informative sis!

Thank you Sis, prefab was the only word I could think of that ended in Fab. When I was a child there were some prefabs at the bottom of our road. They are all gone now, well for decades now. As for the song When we was Fab it is my favourite George Harrison song. Have a great weekend Sis. 💜💜

We had an entire estate of them in Poole, and they were still there in the late 70s.
When I moved away to live on the outskirts of Bath, the estate where I moved to had previously had fifty or so prefabs which had been replaced by neat little retirement bungalows.

After World War II, The GI Bill in the US made home ownership really easy for veterans, and we had lots of suburbs spring up as if by magic to fill the demand. Some were pretty well-built…
Apr 06, 2019 @ 17:24:24
The prefabs were never meant to be more than stopgap housing 💜

This is a lesson well taught. (And nice use of the acrostic, too.) Nice post!
