Black Box recording , routine check.

co pilot :”Oh! My God that is so beautiful, what on earth is it.”

pilot:”It’s St. Elmo’s Fire.”

co pilot:”It’s amazing, are we safe? Have you seen it before?”

pilot:”Yes I have seen it twice before, and yes it’s safe. Once you know what it is there is nothing to fear.”

co pilot:”Shit, sir what’s that buzzing and the wings and nose cone are glowing purple what’s happening”

pilot:”It is an electrical phenomenon and it’s weather dependent. The thing is to see it for what it is, accept it and fly through it. There is nothing to be afraid of. You may never see it again or you may fly through it often. See it for what it is a gift from Nature a show of a higher power.”

co pilot:”I am scared sir but your right it is the best show I have ever seen. ”

Ten years later.

co pilot:”What the F*** is that sir? ”

pilot: “It’s St Elmo’s fire, I have only seen it once before but it’s perfectly safe treat it with respect it a gift……”

A spectacular story to match the prompt Willow. I loved reading the information at the link…I found this which I thought interesting…it’s my name…In ancient Greece, the appearance of a single one was called Helene (Ancient Greek: Ἑλένη), literally meaning torch
