This was the sentiment echoed in most houses yesterday, today and tomorrow.💜
Full Circle: St Michael and All Angels, Addingham

Palpable feelings.
From Little Meg we had a leisurely stroll down a wooded path, to a tiny church we had glimpsed from the circle on our first visit. It had turned out to be one I had stumbled across in my research of the area and well worth a visit, even if, when we arrived, the doors were closed, for in the churchyard is an unusual cross.
The weathered, Anglo-Norse cross is covered in scroll-work. The ends of the arms are carved with saltires …St Andrew’s crosses … which have figured frequently in our wanderings. Only the upper part of the shaft and the cross head remains from the original cross which dates from the 900s. Even the ‘modern’ base into which they are set dates from before the Norman Conquest of 1066.
A close look at the carving seems to suggest that the ends of the scroll work are serpent heads……

WELCOME TO TANKA TUESDAY!

This week’s prompt is not to use the words Joy and Belief.
Such Jubilation
The birth of the Saviour
He holds all our hopes.
Can we have faith in this child
Rest assured he is our hope.

She was chaste without a blush
Born in a manger

I wish all my lovely friends and followers here on wordpress a very happy Christmas may you all be blessed with a happy time.
Yule tide is upon us and today is it’s eve. No doubt you have all been very busy today. Well it’s time for you to sit down and have a break. So let’s all raise a glass to eachother and shout Happy Christmas.
Below is a little Christmas poem and some Christmas music.
Thanks for all your patience I love you all!
It A Miracal
Black, black the sky, cold the winds blow
Across the sand by the light of the stars progress was slow.
She was slight but with child. Tired and near her time.
They had had to travel though, the census to sign.
They arrive late after many days travel and there was no place to stay.
She was too tired to chide her man for his incompetence
Her time was near, she urged him to find a place she could lay.
He found a stable bare and full of the animal’s stench.
He did his best to make her comfortable as she began her labor
She was so young and a virgin she knew not what was happening
Finally a child was born as promised a boy to the world a saviour.
From outside came a gentle light and the sound of singing.
People came from far and wide, rich and poor bringing gifts
No one knew why they came but come they did
All saw the beauty of the family and felt their sorrow lift.

It’s Christmas Eve tomorrow. Don’t panic! By the way I have had three attempts at this blog fingers crossed I have nailed it this time 😉
Helen Vahdati who hosts #SLS has given us the prompt Season for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday.
Well I thought maybe I could do all the seasons, starting with Spring.
Let’s go with Donna Summer and Spring Affair.
Ooh, something’s coming over me
Ooh, I think it’s got a hold on me, it’s got me, it’s got me
Ooh, just the man I hoped you’d be
Ooh, just the man to set me free, you got me, you got me
You got me, you got me
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And I’m hung on you
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And we’ve got something new, me and you, oh baby
Ooh, guess I’m falling much too fast
Ooh, I hope this love is gonna last, I’ve fallen
Ooh, the feeling’s getting really strong
Ooh, gives me strength to carry on, I’ve fallen, I’ve fallen
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And I’m hung up on you
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And we’ve got something new
It’s a spring affair
It’s a spring affair
Oooh, ooh, ooh
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And I’m hung up on you
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And we’ve got something new
Uuuh uhh aah,.. oh yeah…
Ooh, you’re the sunshine in my life
Ooh, how you come on shining bright, you got me
Ooh, feeling’s gonna grow and grow
Ooh, let your loving river flow, you got me, you got all of me
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And I’m hung up on you
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And we’ve got something new
Spring affair, spring affair, spring affair
And we’ve got something new
It’s a spring affair
It’s a spring affair
Spring affair
Give strength to carry on
Spring affair…
Next Summer, Here are The Corrs with Summer Sunshine I do love the Corrs their blend of traditional Irish music and modern make for a fantastic repertoire. This song falls into the modern section.
Autumn next and the fabulous Kinks with Autumn Almanac. The two brothers Ray and Dave Davis were brilliant songwriters and musicians….still are.
Now finally Winter. There are many but it has got to be Freddie in the Winter of his life. With Queen and A Winter’s Tale. Just beautiful, just perfect.
“A Winter’s Tale”
Red skies are gleaming
Sea-gulls are flying over
Swans are floatin’ by
Smoking chimney-tops
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
The nights draw in
There’s a silky moon up in the sky
Children are fantasising
Grown-ups are standin’ by
What a super feeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
(Dreaming)
So quiet and peaceful
Tranquil and blissful
There’s a kind of magic in the air
What a truly magnificent view
A breathtaking scene
With the dreams of the world
In the palm of your hand
(Dreaming)
A cosy fireside chat
A little this, a little that
Sound of merry laughter skippin’ by
Gentle rain beatin’ on my face
What an extraordinary place!
And the dream of the child
Is the hope of the—hope of the man
It’s all so beautiful
Like a landscape painting in the sky
Mountains are zoomin’ higher
Little girls scream and cry
My world is spinnin’ and spinnin’ and spinnin’
It’s unbelievable
Sends me reeling
Am I dreaming?
Am I dreaming?
Ooh, it’s bliss
So there you have it we have zipped through the year. I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. I love you all.💜💜

This week’s #SoCs prompt from LindaGHill is: Tin use it as you will, a word or part of but have fun.
TINTIN was a childhood favourite of mine. I used to love listening to his adventures on the wireless, better known these days as the radio.
Hergé’s adventures of TinTin was so exciting to me as a child and I loved to imagine all the characters! I also loved the books and finally the TV series.
Photo from Wiapedia of the Author Hergé with a bust of TinTin.
The main characters from TinTin from Wikipedia
The main Characters (the good guys ) are
Tintin, Snowy, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson and Thompson, AKA The Thomson Twins.
So there you have it my childhood Hero TinTin.
