A poem of two sides.

Today it’s a poem of two sides. All I did was change two words for one in the top line and three words in the bottom line. What a difference that made.

A poem of two sides.

I put on my crown of thorn

And vow no more to mourn

The passing of my days

Lost in depression’s maze

New resolutions I will make

To smile and cope

Pretending it’s not fake

Farewell to joy farewell to hope.

***********

Remove my crown of thorn

And vow no more to mourn

The passing of my days

Lost in depression’s maze

New resolutions I will make

To smile and cope

Pretending it’s not fake

Farewell sadness welcome hope.

It’s amazing, Willow! We have choice of words, choice of mindset and what difference it makes in the outcome of life. Very well done!

Powerful thoughts Willow there is nothing quite like poetry for getting those across to the reader. How was your Christmas? Wishing you much happiness in 2019. Xxx

Thank you Marje it so amazing how just changing a few words, five I think, can change the whole perspective of the poem. Christmas was good hectic and noisy ..how was yours? Wishing you and all the family a happy and healthy 2019. πŸ’œπŸ’œ

The right or wrong… words can boost or cast us down. No doubt about that! Well said, Willow. Life seems to be all about ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ doesn’t it! Here’s to the positives. And here’s to a healthier 2019.

I got to know that life is not a bed of roses through your poem and at the same time I realized that it isn’t a bed of thorns either!! What wonderful poetry. Indeed inspired!
