The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Nov. 17/18

This week for #SoCs Linda G.Hill has given us the words Roll and Role to use for Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

“Roll with it” from Oasis one of my favourite songs from the Gallagher brothers and their mates.

Not only is it a great song but it reminds me of my middle son and his mates. They were all born circa 1975, as were most of the bands that are known as the Brit Pops.

It’s a call to arms, to roll with the blows of life, to fight for what you want, not letting anyone get in your way. To be the best you can.

My lad used to go to as many Oasis concerts as he possibly could. In his Parker coat, hands clasped behind his back and the rolling dance they all used to do. ( Watch the video you will see the lead singer, arms clasped behind back doing the rolling dance)

It was like he and his mates were in the role of mini Oasis’s !

To finish with here is another Roll with it. This time from Stevie Winwood very much my era and someone I met.

I met Stevie and the rest of the group when he was with the Spenser Davis group, at Top of the Pops at the BBC’S Lime Grove Studios.

That was in my role as Rock Chick, Stevie was five years older than me… In those days it seemed like 30yrs older than me!
