See me.

Don’t

Ignore

Me because

I am old. I

was once bright and bold.

I had a full life once

I was loved and desired too

Spending my time much like you do

I am not stupid, I am not slow

In this old shell there’s a person you know.

So do not dismiss me right out of hand.

I fought for your future in this land.

Your life may not be as it is

Don’t ignore me, don’t dismiss

Respect is all I ask

Is helping me such

An awful task

Kindness is

All I

Ask

Forget not from where we came. Forget not who paved the road we walk on.
