How
Hard to
See a loved
One slip away
Unable to catch that
Lost beautiful fading
Mind. Each day another spark
Dies. Recognition replaced by
Fear and confusion, unknowing eyes
The spark is gone and there is no one home.

This week HelenVahdati has given us the words Take/ Taking for #songlyricsunday.
This is my second song song choice Take me to Church. By Hozier.
I wanted to do this song for Song Lyric Sunday. I love the song so much it’s so soulful.
Yet above all the message in the video is one that I think should be watched and watched again . No one, no where should ever be persecuted for who they are, or who they love.
It’s a harsh video, I make no apologies I am making a point.
If the heavens ever did speak
She’s the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday’s getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week
“We were born sick,” you heard them say it
My church offers no absolutes
She tells me, “Worship in the bedroom.”
The only heaven I’ll be sent to
Is when I’m alone with you
I was born sick
But I love it
Command me to be well
Aaay. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
If I’m a pagan of the good times
My lover’s the sunlight
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice
Drain the whole sea
Get something shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That’s a fine-looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We’ve a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me my deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
No Masters or Kings
When the Ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Ooh oh. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
Lyrics from A to Z Lyrics.

This week HelenVahdati has given us the words Take/ Taking for #songlyricsunday.
I have chosen Take my Breath Away by Queen. One of their beautiful ballards.
This is one of my favourites from that era 1976. This song is definitely one of their very best. I was 26 years young, married with two children. If I was tired it gave me a lift, it I was sad it helped me, if I was plain stressed it relaxed me! My two older boys grew up on a diet of Queen even when they were in the womb the last lad to a lesser extent but they all know and appreciate Queen.
