The Escapist’s Colouring Club October Update.

After my spectacular fail last month to get any colouring done for the Escapist’s Colouring Club (run by the lovely Linda G Hill of A life in progress. ) Resulted in my entering a portrait my husband painted of our eldest son. At the time our lady was ill in hospital, aged five. Happily he recovered and forty years on he is hale and hearty.

So to this month October , I have made a start so here is an overdue mid month progress report.

New pencils on the right, bright pastels, the originals on the left are darker warmer colours!

The bare start.

The beginnings

Progress so far.

So wishing all other participants well and see you all on October first ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Misty Autumn Morn

Autumn mists adorn the fields

It’s early yet and has an eerie feel.

There is not a soul to see

Only the mist, Ruby and me.

So we make our way around

Where a hoary silver paints the ground

The sun is trying to burn through

Above the mist are skies of blue

There is a faint pink tint to cloud

The mist still hanging like a shroud.

So we turn homeward bound

Past the old house our muffled tread makes no sound.

Song Lyric Sunday. Lost.

Hey up Helen, so sorry you are not feeling too good. I really hope that you can get better soon.

This week’s prompt for Song Lyric Sunday is Lost.

I have chosen Lewis Capaldi he is a fantastic Scottish singer songwriter from West Lothian.

I have chosen a video of him sing live. His voice is pure , raw and really touched me. His lyrics have the same qualities as his voice.

“Lost On You”

Lately I’m getting lost on you
You got me doing things I never thought I’d do
Never spent so long on a losing battle
Lately giving up don’t seem to matter

Everyday I’m a slave to the heartache
And you’re wasting away every night
I don’t want to leave you lonely
But I’ve run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn’t give enough
Hope you’ll be safe in the arms of another
‘Cause I can’t take the weight of your love

Lately I’m getting lost on you
I tore your world apart like it was nothing new
Never bled so much when I didn’t have to
I’ve given up on a life lived after

Everyday I’m a slave to the heartache
And you’re wasting away every night
I don’t want to leave you lonely
But I’ve run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn’t give enough
Hope you’ll be safe in the arms of another
‘Cause I can’t take the weight of your love

I had a hold on your soul
But I lost my grip, let you go
I should’ve carried us both

Everyday I’m a slave to the heartache
And you’re wasting away every night
I don’t want to leave you lonely
But I’ve run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn’t give enough
Hope you’ll be safe in the arms of another
Cause I can’t take the weight of your love, of your love
Hope you’ll be safe in the arms of another
Cause I can’t take the weight of your love

Scary October 21

Here we are at the unholy month of October. I thought I would do a paranormal, witchy, unholy bunch of poems, some new and some old.

Don’t forget to check out Jane Dougherty and Kat Myrman‘s plans for this month!

Today’s poem is a release from evil control. Another Etheree.

Escape

Lost

She ran

Blindly to

Escape the man

Who beat her each night

Sadly into the arms

Of the dark angel of death

Who took her for his very own

Gratefully taking his hand she sighed

Free at last her bruised soul, now she had died.
