This is my entry for Sue Vincent‘s, of The Daily Echo Thursday Photo Prompt. #writephoto
Last Glimmer.
Hope
The one
Last Glimmer
Burned through the dawn
We’d all given up hope
Of reaching the safety
Of civilization
All of our hopes dashed and broken
Fuel on empty the engines cut out
We went down in sight of the city lights.
The aliens had bought the virus here
Unknowingly, they meant us no harm
They taught us how to save our world
To treat Nature with respect
Then came the plague
The cure found too late
For the one last
Glimmer of
Human
Hope.
