Brittany Day 2

We awoke to utter silence…. Honest silence!

And stunning pastoral views. We made our way down stairs to be met by a happy Ruby.

Well we were very lucky with our Gite which though basic was very comfy and well equipped.

What to do on our first day. After breakfast I took Ruby for a walk while hubby drove to the village to pick up some supplies.

The walk was lovely and the weather was glorious. I set my sights on walking to a huge water tower before turning round. Ruby and I nearly got there but not far from our goal we passed a farm. Just as I was admiring the beautiful garden the back door of the farm house opened and two huge black dogs rushed. I immediately put Ruby on the lead, turned and started to walk back, I heard the farmer calling the dogs back. They approached us, Ruby ever a lady greeted the older dog, he then left, the second dog a large Bullmastiff puppy was more persistent. The farmer called him, Ruby ignored him, me I was scared because he barking and jumping up at us, finally the puppy returned to his master and I said a rude word!

The rest of the walk was uneventful.

We spent the rest of the day, sunbathing, walking Ruby…no more farm dog run ins. We also planned where we would go during the week.

We were amazed at how quiet the area was, so quiet and at night so dark! We could see stars and planets! 🌟

Song Lyric Sunday 23/09/2018,

This is my entry for Helen Vahdati’s Song Lyric Sunday. Helen has not been very well this week so I want to wish her well and happy soon .

This week’s prompt is SLEEP.

#songlyricsunday

I have chosen my favourite singer songwriter Imogen Heap‘s song Sleep.

“Sleep”

How can it feel so nice?
Why does it feel so right?
I think I’ve been somewhere special
I want to go back there

Sleep
I think I will
Go back to sleep

Oh it’s so cold and shivery outside my cocoon
Now I’m on my way

Sleep
Oh sleep
Sleep

A to Z lyrics

Happy Sunday everyone.

September Music 23

For the month of September I am going to choose a piece of music or song and write a poem or alternative version. Jane Dougherty is doing a September Stanza here. And Kat Myrman is doing September a poem a day Here.

Today’s piece of music is Landslide by Fleetwood Mac.

Here is my interpretation

Age brings more than just aches and pains

The hope is to have fewer losses and more gains

When you’ve climbed the mountain fate brings you down.

As you reach the summit the landslide brings you down.

Your body no longer seems your own

Your youth and vigour seem to have flown.

You just reach the pinicale of your life

You’ve been lover, mother, grandma and wife

When nature brings you to ground

And the landslide gets you down.

The story of your life can’t be changed

There is no going back to rearrange.

We all reach the Autumn of our time

We all tell ourselves all will be fine.

When nature brings you to ground

And the landslide gets you down.
