Pillars.

The light was fading fast and the temperature was dropping, soon there would be no sunlight left to protect them.

She watched her babies sleeping, innocent and unspoilt. Just as the last rays of the sun streamed in the void where the door had been. The sound of the wolves, too far in the distance, sent shivers down her spine. Nearer she also heard the whistles and shouts of the Vampires as they began to wake and gather.

How had she got into this danger with her young in tow. She looked around in search for a hiding place but there was none.

She moved her babes and hid them under the Alter and the Cruifix that at least would save them from the Vampires. If they could last until dawn her pack would come back for them. She knew her sisters would foster her pups.

As for herself she would fight to the death or the dawn, which ever came first, to protect her them.

The darkness fell and with screams and unholy shrieks the Vampires flew among the Pillars.

………..

The morning came light and bright, the pack entered to find a bloody scene. Three headless Vampires, and one with its heart ripped out.

She lay by the alter dying from horrendous wounds. Peeping out from beneath her were her pups. Three bitches came forward and took the pups.

She sighed and died.
