For the month of September I am going to choose a piece of music or song and write a poem or alternative version. Jane Dougherty is doing a September Stanza here. And Kat Myrman is doing September a poem a day Here.
Today’s piece of Music is Kashmir, originally performed by Led Zeppelin, but performed here by Bond in classical mode.
My interpretation.
I am all seeing, ageless and knowing.
I see the myriad stars and rivers flowing.
Spice travels along my winding roads
Beasts of burden bow beneath their loads.
I am the mountain peaks covered in snow
The valleys green and lush below.
I am master of all I survey
Even nature, I bend to my way.
I am all seeing, ageless and knowing.
I see the myriad stars and rivers flowing.
Master of time and space,
I am everything, beauty and full of grace.
And just for good measure the glorious original.

I don’t think I ever knew what Led Zeppelin looked like! Not surprising that generation are nearly all dead now! Didn’t know this one. Thanks for posting it π

It’s one of my Favourites Jane, holds lots of memories. The music is just brilliant, worthy of the word ‘classic ‘ to my mind anyway. The words I wrote are representative of how the music makes me feel π

I like your words better than the original, I think. I do like some rock music, more now than I did when I was a kid. But that drug-glazed look of men flaunting their masculinity gives me the creeps. Funny how we see far more young women flaunting their femininity these days.
Sep 14, 2018 @ 08:08:30
Yes it’s gone full circle, I not sure I like it any better. Those days were heady, groups and men thinking they are sex gods!!
Sep 14, 2018 @ 09:33:05
Exactly. I didn’t like that aspect of rock then, and I don’t like the female version either. You don’t have to be a pouting beauty with hardly any clothes on (and that goes for the guys too) to be a talented musician. Look at Beethoven…
Sep 14, 2018 @ 09:34:37
Look at any of the old time composers! π

When rock stars get old or even a bit grey and wrinkly, I tend to think, shouldnβt you be doing something a bit more serious now?
Sep 14, 2018 @ 12:13:55
Yes but like actors and film stars they think they are forever young ππ
Sep 14, 2018 @ 12:43:28
The Rolling Stones look like the living dead. Some of them really are dead…
Sep 14, 2018 @ 13:23:15
Yes I think your right ! All of them especially Keith and Charlie!
Sep 14, 2018 @ 16:35:43
Mind you, given the amount of substances theyβve absorbed over the years it wouldnβt be fair if they didnβt look like wrecks!
Sep 14, 2018 @ 15:57:51
Indeed, I would begin to think they had sold their souls to the devil!ππ
Sep 14, 2018 @ 10:53:28
One of my all favorites from Zeppelin. Your poem did it justice. Lovely, Willow!π
Sep 14, 2018 @ 12:10:39
Thank you so much Jordy π
Sep 14, 2018 @ 15:49:22
Excellent poem, milady….
Sep 14, 2018 @ 15:55:50
Why thank you so much sir ππ
Sep 15, 2018 @ 02:06:34
Willow, I love your poem! Will come back and play the song tomorrow when I get a chance. (Not sure I’m familiar with that particular Led Zeppelin song.)
Sep 15, 2018 @ 04:07:54
It is one of their biggest hits definitely a favourite of mine as is the Bond version π
Sep 15, 2018 @ 20:21:37
For some reason I can’t access the videos on my phone. Will check from my computer later, and will probably recognize the song when I hear it.

If the links don’t work at all the two tracks are Kashmir by Bond and Kashmir by Led Zeppelin π
Sep 17, 2018 @ 02:49:50
Thanks Willow, I was finally able to open the videos. I do remember the Led Zeppelin song, it turns out. Seems like Stairway to Heaven was the biggest hit of theirs over here – but I could be wrong. π Enjoyed listening to these though! β€οΈβ€οΈπΆ

Another lovely piece, Willow.
Sep 15, 2018 @ 10:35:11
Thank you Robbie, I have always loved the Led Zeppelin version but when I heard the Bond version I blown away. The words just suggested themselves.ππ
Sep 15, 2018 @ 20:56:55
Wonderful, Willow. I like Bondβs interpretation (bummer no video with the music) and your words are lovelyβ¦
I think of my husband any time I hear a Led Zep song as he loved them.
Sep 15, 2018 @ 19:57:10
Awe bless Led Zeppelin were one of my favourites too especially Kashmir, I am so glad you enjoyed this one πππ
