This is my entry for Ronovanwrite’s weekly Haiku Challenge. This week our prompts are Hero and Coward.

Always the coward

Yet not beyond turning coat

Resplendent hero.

August Stanza 27

It is August and so Jane is doing : a chain of images each one suggested by the last word in the preceding poem. They’ll be short, a single image of just a few lines. It will be interesting to see where it ends up by the end of the month.

Kat will be doing short 3,4, or 5 line poems no syllable counts of rhymes, starting with the word ‘August’ on the first day. The last word of the poem will be the first word of day two’s poem, and so on until the end of the month.

Finally I shall be doing all types of poetry but each poem will start with the last word in the preceding poem.

Todays Poem is An Irregular Ode.

Summer her name and her nature too

Attired like an Iris in gold and blue

Like a breath of fresh air her perfume begiles

She is a bouquet of soft words and smiles.

Her hair like golden flax challenges the sun

Her voice will bring you silver dreams she has spun.

She is my love, my light and my life.

To make her my bride is my challenge in life.

Above two shots of a Rolls Royce car at Highclere Castle. Above that an electric car on charge in London near the Inns of Court.

The Maroon beauty is WW2 car seen at Bletchley Park

And lastly but not least my car, I love the colour “Deep Impact Blue”.
