The Sun and the Ent.

“Oh!” Cried the Sun, “you must let me go”

The glorious Ent shook his head and said “No.”

“Please” cried the Sun her worse fears altered

“No” cooed the Ent “your escape must be averted.”

Weeping the Sun bowed her head

“Please” said the Ent “the moon is already dead.”

The Sun felt her tears turning to steam.

The Ent held her fast, though he wanted to scream.

“Tell me” sobbed the Sun, “why has my brother died?”

The Ent shook his head and said “to save him I tried.”

“Why”asked the Sun “is everything so sad.”

“Because” said the Ent “the world has gone mad.”

August Stanza 23,

It is August and so Jane is doing : a chain of images each one suggested by the last word in the preceding poem. They’ll be short, a single image of just a few lines. It will be interesting to see where it ends up by the end of the month.

Kat will be doing short 3,4, or 5 line poems no syllable counts of rhymes, starting with the word ‘August’ on the first day. The last word of the poem will be the first word of day two’s poem, and so on until the end of the month.

Finally I shall be doing all types of poetry but each poem will start with the last word in the preceding poem.

Today’s poem is an Epigram

Stress plays a large part in our lives.
Even if you blame it on your husbands and wives.
You will never beat it It remains undefeated
Unlike a computer you cannot delete it.

———-

Strife, no one can escape it’s true

But there are things you can do.

Kind words each day and a smile

Can help keep it at bay for a while.

Or at least make it less of a trial.
