Today Helen Vahdati has given us the Song Lyric Sunday prompt of Drink.
Well I didn’t have to think hard about that one I adore Sia and Chandelier is such a great social comment on the drink culture of the young today that I instantly had my first choice.
My second choice is not going to be a popular one, as it is by The Bloody Irish Boys… Oh! I love their music it is loud, brash, unintelligible but so full of life!
Streams of Whiskey.
Last night as I slept
I dreamt I met with behan
I shook him by the hand and we passed the time of day
When questioned on his views
On the crux of lifes philosophies
He had but these few clear and simple words to say
I am going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
I have cursed, bled and sworn
Jumped bail and landed up in jail
Life has often tried to stretch me
But the rope always was slack
And now that Ive a pile
Ill go down to the chelsea
Ill walk in on my feet
But Ill leave there on my back
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Oh the words that he spoke
Seemed the wisest of philosophies
Theres nothing ever gained
By a wet thing called a tear
When the world is too dark
And I need the light inside of me
Ill walk into a bar
And drink fifteen pints of beer
Iam going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
I am going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Finally another Irish song, Whiskey in the jar by Thin Lizzie. I could not do a song lyric Sunday without it.
There you go three songsπ Happy Sunday everyone.

Three good ones here! Of course, I prefer the Irish pub version of “Whiskey In The Jar”… one of the other participants played “The Wild Rover,” and as with that one, it brings back memories of pints of Guinness…
Aug 05, 2018 @ 15:51:08
Guinness, Dublin, the Dubliners and the Pogues. All great things ππ
Aug 05, 2018 @ 16:35:06

All three I love! Sia’s song is one of my favorites to listen to, and Thin Lizzie, I think I’ve heard before. The new one to me is the Bloody Irish Boys, and it was really good, too. Something about Irish singers/songs that just draw me in. π

I do love Sia her lyrics are so real every song she writes is brilliant. As for the Irish music it is in my blood, my father being a Dublin man…. It is amazing not that I am biased at all.πππ

Sia’s song IS a great commentary – and intense message. “Whiskey in a jar?” Whoa! My brain’s still rattling around in my head! LOL! Thanks for sharing. π

Hi Denise glad you enjoyed them π, I agree Sia’s lyrics tell it how it is and the other two songs are hard drinking songs. π
Aug 12, 2018 @ 16:20:56
All three are fantastic songs. I enjoyed each of them for very different reasons. Thanks so much for sharing!

Glad you liked them Helen ππ
