At Kat Myrman‘s suggestion, along with Jane Dougherty, I’m trying out the Lune form this month. The Lune is a three line poem, either 5/3/5 syllables or 3/5/3 words.

Today I thought I would try the 3/5/3 word version.
The stealthy Magpie
Black and white bright eyed
On the pry.

This week’s Stream of Consciousness Saturday prompt from LindaGHill is to: Start with a noun and then write about it whatever it is. Most important rule enjoy yourselves.
I am using an abstract noun Fire. I have written a little poem it not very good but I am not on top form so sorry.
The photo is one I took.
Fire, from early discovery
There was no knowing what
An asset it would turn out to be.
Giver of heat to warmer of pot.
It can used as a light
Or a lead of direction
As a weapon in a fight
Treat a wound to stop infection.
We learned to harness it power
Fire heated water drove steam machinery
Boiled oil to repel raiders from a tower.
It can smelt gold to make finery.
Down through the years
Fire has been a great boon
Protecting man from animals he fears.
It keeps us warm and cosy in our room.
