His eyes met hers across the street. The world stopped for a second, then she found her voice and screamed.
His reaction was to drop his knife and run leaving the man bleeding on the ground.
Running across the road she reach the man, her husband bleeding from his neck. Her tears fell as she fumbled with her scarf as she put it around his neck.
Someone had called the ambulance and the police.
Help would not come in time he was bleeding out.
Later the police asked her “Would you recognise the assailant, did you see his face.”
“I would” she replied, ” I saw his face, his eyes.” They tried to comfort her.
