Silence

Not a single sound

Silence stretched for miles

White crosses in the ground

Each a name on military files.

All represent a life lost

Wiped out at such a cost.

Silence screams so very loud

The souls below are proud.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silence seals her lips tight
Silence locks her door at night.
She has been warned not to tell
Or she will get more hell.
Let’s pray she finds the strength
To break her silence at length.
Silence has the loudest shout
But we need to listen out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Silence screamed at us.

Silence yelled and made a fuss

Sadly no one heard.

      Well you have come almost all the way along! Great response to Prompt word. There are many great songs about silence, you have two of my favourites in your post Portishead and Tori Amos. Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel is brilliant also Silence is golden by the Tremelos. Recently ish though Say Something by Pentatonix is brilliant

      Have a good day šŸ’œ
