NY Times Best Selling Books
Fifty shades of Grey
Lean in,I willed him to look closer, to be astounded by my choice of reading.I wanted him to be impressed by my collection of prize winning books. He’d never know that I had not read any of them. I was just like my bookcase all show. Fifty shades of Grey no colour, no substance.

Just Jot it January. Day 29 Fantastic.
Just Jot it January Day 29 today’s prompt is Fantastic and it is brought to us by Jill, J-Dub. Do please remember to visit her site.
#jusjojan
Fantastic is one of those words that though is ment to convey one meaning ( positive, magical, special) now has been tamed down in modern language. Nowadays it can be used in a sarcastic negative way or in a positive way!
Fantastic said Mable to herself as say her train disappearing into the distance. Fantastic she thought as it began to rain!
Mable was cold, wet and now she was late.
Fantastic, thought Greg , she has missed the train too. Fantastic here comes the rain.
“Hello, Mabel, isn’t it” Greg said as he sidled up to a wet and cold Mabel. “Would you like to share my umbrella” he smiled his most winning smile at her.
Mabel smiled “That would that would be lovely” Greg’s heart fluttered she has the most fantastic smile.
Mable was surprised to find herself under the same umbrella as Greg the guy who works upstairs for her at the same firm she works for. They often exchanged smiles but had never spoken before.
“It’s three quarters of an hour until our next train shall we have a coffee?” Asked Greg. Mabel smiled, “That would be fantastic thanks”
That was the start of their relationship and just shows how a sarcastic, negative “Fantastic” can, by circumstances, become a happy positive “Fantastic!”.
By the way when there train arrived not many people noticed it was being driven by a Purple unicorn. Now that is truly Fantastic!

Song Lyrics Sunday. Goodbye / Farewell.
This is my entry for Song Lyric Sunday, brought to us by Helen Vahdati and Simply Marquessa. This week’s prompt is Farewell/ Goodbye.
I have probably used this song before. To me it is one of the most beautiful songs ever. It explains perfectly the loss of a loved one especially one so perfect as a mother.
Carly Simon’s, one of the best ever singer songwriters of her era.
by Carly Simon.
“Like A River”
And your house is up for sale
We divided your railway watches
Between the four of us
I fought over the pearls
With the other girls
But it was all a metaphor
For what was wrong with us
As the room is emptying out
Your face so young comes into view
And on the back porch is a well-worn step
And a pool of light you can walk into
I’ll wait no more for you like a daughter,
That part of our life together is over
But I will wait for you, forever
Like a river…
Can you clear up the mystery of the Sphinx?
Do you know any more about God?
Are you dancing with Benjamin Franklin
On the face of the moon?
Have you reconciled with Dad?
Does the rain still make you sad?
Last night I swear I could feel you
Moving through my room
And I thought you touched my feet
I so wanted it to be true
In my theater there is a stage
And a footlight you can step into…
I’ll wait no more for you like a daughter,
That part of our life together is over
But I will wait for you, forever
Like a river…
In the river I know I will find the key
And your voice will rise like the spray
In the moment of knowing
The tide will wash away my doubt
‘Cause you’re already home
Making it nice for when I come home
Like the way I find my bed turned down
Coming in from a late night out.
Please keep reminding me
Of what in my soul I know is true
Come in my boat, there’s a seat beside me
And two or three stars we can gaze into…
I’ll wait no more for you like a daughter,
That part of our life together is over
But I will wait for you forever
Like a river…
I’ll never leave, always just a dream away
A star that’s always watching
Never turn away
We’ll never leave, always just a thought away
A candle always burning
Never turn away
The moon will hide, the tree will bend
I’m right beside you
I’ll never turn away
Just Jot it January. Day 28 . Knight
Today is Day 28 of Just Jot it January. The Prompt today is brought to us by Leta Hawk at Hawk’s Happenings. Thanks to Leta, and do drop in and visit her blog.
Back in the day knights were all handsome and brave and their ladies lived in castles and worked on their weaving or tapestry. Everyone was happy… really??

A Knight’s Lament.
In days of old when knights were bold
The dwellings stank and winds blew cold.
The blacksmith lost a stone a day
Slaving in his forge to earn his pay.
The damsels in their gowns billowing
Trudged through mud a flowing.
The knights in their armour still died
Their damsels in their draughty castles cried.
The halls were draughty the bedrooms
Worse no flushing loos what a curse.
In days of old when knights were bold.
Life was hard if truth were told!

Just Jot it January. Stream of Consciousness Saturday, Movement Ripples. Haiku.
This is my entry for Just Jot it January, and today being Saturday it is also Stream of Consciousness Saturday.
So our prompt for #SoCs from Linda of Life in Progress is movement. Now just to throw something different into the mix she has told not to use the actual word movement but to pick a type of movement and use that in our post. So do it, be creative but make sure you enjoy.

Ripples

The green grass ripples
Like a wave on a green sea
Sent from ripples spread.

Ripe, ready for the cut
The golden corn undulates
The harvest awaits.

The crowd rises up
A Mexican wave sweeps through
Huge ripples of joy
