This is part of Jane Dougherty of Jane Dougherty Writes alternative Challenge to NanoWritMo. A month with Yeats.
Day 16’s quote is from ‘He mourns the change that has come upon him and longs for the end of the world.’ Almost a poem in itself .
The quote. ‘Do you not hear me calling, white deer with no horns.’ W.B. Yeats
Where I live they are building houses by the hundreds. The deer are at a loss as to where the routes that are written into their consciousness have gone. It is so sad to see deer negotiating busy roads and housing estates.
Though it is wonderful to come across them while walking the dog or looking out of the window, the fear in their eyes hurts.
I do not think that those incharge realise what they are doing.
We do not see.
The runs have all gone
Far too late we see the truth
You are so lost friend
They have stolen your byways
Now you run afraid and lost.
