This week’s Thursday photo prompt from Sue Vincent of Daily Echo is titled Alone.
#writephoto.
Alone.
Alone at dusk she sat, as she had at dawn.
He was lost and all she could was mourn.
So young and bright they had set out
To planets new, no fear no doubt.
Homes to build and crops to grow
How it would end they didn’t know.
It had started off so well
Why now was it all blown to hell.
Perched up on the rock’s peak
She watch as all on the base did sleep
Banished now she made numbers odd
She was alone and cold and prayed to God.
The rules she knew and did abide
No one could stay if their partner died.
The seven moons rose and lit the plain
She felt his hand on her hers removing pain
As the temperature fell below zero
She died alone to be reunited with her hero.
