Come and drink your fill

The fountain of life calls you

Drink now and drink deep

      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Here in hidden depth
Secrets fill the gloomy air
How many souls here.
         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fill my soul with truth

What depths have I sunken to

I have lost my youth.

Song Lyric Sunday:Magic

This week’s prompt from Helen Vahdati is Magic.

Rules and Pingback Here

Let the magic begin.

As a child I loved reading and being read fairy tales. Now fairy tales are not really for children, they are often very scary BUT they are full of magic. I love magic.

Now C S Lewis was a wonderful storyteller and believe it or not he was a friend and drinking partner to J R R Tolkien. They both wrote wonderful stories, stories of my childhood.

This song l have chosen this week is Wunderkind by Alanis Morissette from the Chronicles of Narnia. The song , the book and the film are so full of magic that they fill me with magic.

Lyrics by AZ lyrics

“Wunderkind”

Oh perilous place walk backwards toward you
Blink disbelieving eyes chilled to the bone
Most visibly brave no aprehended gloom
First to take this foot to virgin snow

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
And I lift the envelope pushed far enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to serve, destined to roam

Oh ominous place spellbound and unchild-proofed
My least favorite chill to bare alone
Compatriots in place they’d cringe if I told you
Our best back-pocket secret our bond full-blown

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a pioneer naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to seek, destined to know

Most beautiful place reborn and blown off roof
My view about-face whether great will be done

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a ground-breaker naive enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

I am a magnet for all kinds of deeper wonderment
I am a wunderkind oh oh oh oooooh
I am a Joan of Arc and smart enough to believe this
I am a princess on the way to my throne

Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam
Destined to reign, destined to roam

Strawberry Fields

Lovely post please read and leave a comment on Tesscol’s page

My Blog

As I ate my bowl of strawberries and Greek yogurt ( sorry i know it should be cream but Yogurt is supposedly more healthy), I was musing upon the title and wondering about the composer of the song ‘Strawberry fields forever.’

Attributed to Lennon and  MCCartney it was actually John Lennon’s childhood memories of playing in the garden of a Salvation Army children’s home as a small boy.

it sparked my memories of my own children when we lived in Kent, famous for the fruit grown there. Every year when the strawberry fields were bursting with fruit they were off to pick some. The local Farmer had a mini bus and all the youngsters would hope to get picked up and taken out to the Farm. They earned their summer pocket money.and learnt how to value it’s worth. My youngest son even earned enough to buy a bike!!

When You Want To Kill Them For Just Chewing (aka Who Is Miss Ophonia?)

A got to read post from Phil Taylor

The Phil Factor

Who is Miss Ophonia? My wife is. So, I have a wife. A wonderful patient woman who puts up with me every day. I know that here, making fun of things 500 words at a time, I must seem like I’m the perfect guy. (You all were thinking that, right?) But to her, I’m a constant collection of irritating noises. I breath too loud. I chew too loud. My hair grows too loud.

According to WebMD, “Misophonia, also known as selective sound sensitivity syndrome, starts with a trigger. It’s often an oral sound — the noise someone makes when they eat, breathe, chew, yawn, or whistle. Sometimes a small repetitive motion is the cause — someone fidgets, jostles you, or wiggles their foot.” Like any disorder of the brain or body there is a spectrum. For a person with misophonia, reactions to these sounds can range from mild anxiety…
