Rules  and Pingback  here

Looking out to sea

A long days wait looking  for lights

Cold cold  the  harbour

Lost loved ones to cruel sea

Pain mirrored in harbour Lights.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mirror like  the  sea
Shows life stormy and  becalmed
No safe harbour yet
Thrashed on the rocks  we cling on
Hoping against hope  for calm.
    Willow (I love your name by the way) both Tanka are filled with the emotions of life and death and how precarious out existence is. Compelling words! ❤
    You did a fantastic job with the tanka Willow as I knew you would. Love the imagges and the witsfulness of the words. The sea can be such a cruel mistress!
    I grew up in a fishing town (Gloucester, Massachusetts) and both of your poems hit me right in the feels! Beautifully written, Willow!
      Thank you Tracie , I have no connection to fishing but I have seen how close communities react to hard life and tragedy. I am chuffed the post touched you. 💜
