Song Lyric Sunday: Judgement.

Right! The lovely Helen Espinosa has not only challenged us to find a song that makes judgements but also how the judgements should  be looked ! HARD or what! But she also wants us to look at ourselves..

Here is what she said! “Along with the theme for this week, I’d like to challenge you to recognize the many ways in which you judge people and try to stop yourself from doing it.  I think the closer we get to accepting people, the better off our society will be.

Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song that deals with judgment or the opposite-getting rid of judgment and being more accepting of everyone.

Now we have to be honest we are all judgemental, and I am as bad as the next. I look at the news and I judge, I look at the way people treat each other and I judge. I probably judge every thing you do. So today I am going to try and think twice before I judge, I am no doubt being judged by someone else.  It will not be easy but I am going to look inside myself. !

Okay so the first song that springs to mind is Liley Allen’s Fuck You. yes I know it is rude but it is bang on subject!

Lily is saying don’t judge and don’t include me in your judgement either but her strident attitude is a tad judgemental too… Just saying. Lily 😊

Look inside
Look inside your tiny mind
Now look a bit harder
‘Cause we’re so uninspired, so sick and tired of all the hatred you harbor

So you say
It’s not okay to be gay
Well I think you’re just evil
You’re just some racist who can’t tie my laces
Your point of view is medieval

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause your words don’t translate
And it’s getting quite late
So please don’t stay in touch

Do you get
Do you get a little kick out of being slow-minded?
You want to be like your father
It’s approval you’re after
Well that’s not how you find it

Do you
Do you really enjoy living a life that’s so hateful?
‘Cause there’s a hole where your soul should be
You’re losing control of it and it’s really distasteful

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause your words don’t translate and it’s getting quite late
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you,
Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you,
Fuck you

You say, you think we need to go to war
Well you’re already in one,
‘Cause its people like you
That need to get slew
No one wants your opinion

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause we hate what you do
And we hate your whole crew
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you
Fuck you very, very much
‘Cause your words don’t translate and it’s getting quite late
So please don’t stay in touch

Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you
Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you

The next song is about how people make judgement on others and how unkind it can be. Then if the person they have no time for becomes rich and or successful they suddenly want to be their best friend!  Heard that before ?yes!

It is called Fuck You  also , sorry I am not trying to shock . This one is by CeeLo Green .

I see you driving ’round town
With the girl I love and I’m like,
Forget you!
Oo, oo, ooo
I guess the change in my pocket
Wasn’t enough I’m like,
Forget you!
And forget her too!
Said, if I was richer, I’d still be with ya
Ha, now ain’t that some shit? (ain’t that some shit?)
And although there’s pain in my chest
I still wish you the best with a…
Forget you!
Oo, oo, ooo

Yeah I’m sorry, I can’t afford a Ferrari,
But that don’t mean I can’t get you there.
I guess he’s an Xbox and I’m more Atari,
About the way you play your game ain’t fair.

I pity the fool that falls in love with you
(Oh shit she’s a gold digger)
Well
(Just thought you should know nigga)
Ooooooh
I’ve got some news for you
Yeah go run and tell your little boyfriend

[Chorus]

Now I know, that I had to borrow,
Beg and steal and lie and cheat.
Trying to keep ya, trying to please ya.
‘Cause being in love with your ass ain’t cheap.

I pity the fool that falls in love with you
(Oh shit she’s a gold digger)
Well
(Just thought you should know nigga)
Ooooooh
I’ve got some news for you
Ooh, I really hate your ass right now

[Chorus]

Now baby, baby, baby
Why d’you wanna wanna hurt me so bad?
(So bad, so bad, so bad)
I tried to tell my momma but she told me
“This is one for your dad”
(Your dad, your dad, your dad)
Yes she did
And I was like
Uh! Whhhy? Uh! Whhhy? Uh!
Whhhy lady? Oh! I love you oh!
I still love you. Oooh!

[Chorus]

This is so great, Willow! I love Lily Allen and this song, while judgmental, is perfect. I also liked the song by CeeLo Green, although it was totally overplayed on the radio here. Thanks so much for sharing these songs this week. 🙂
