This is part of Sue Vincent‘s Thursday Photo Prompt.
There in the dark it lies in wait
You can’t see it, it has sealed your fate.
Patiently it lurks circling in the dark
Quicken it’s breath, can you hear, hark.
Slowly but surely it is closing in
It’s presence tingling in your skin.
Your trapped in this dark space
Closing in, you can feel your heart race.
You are on your own in this place
No escape no saving grace.
Nothing but darkness and fear
Scream as loud as you can no one will hear.
The cave is your own frightened head
The monster, your depression wishing you dead.
Yellow eyes and razor sharp fangs
You beat yourself up with hunger pangs .
There is no room for flight
You tremble and shake again in the night
The monster is massive the monster is here
Not a wild beast but your own inbred fear.
