Song Lyric Sunday: Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks.

This is part of Helen Espinosa‘s Song Lyric Sunday.

This week Helen said :” Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song that refers to a city/state/town.  I’m thinking this is maybe a sister theme to last week’s home theme, but homes and places to call home are on my mind.”

Pingback and Rules here

Well this is another one that needed a lot of thought as we have moved about a lot. So having given this some thought I have gone for my roots.

Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks is such a beautiful song of homage to my home town that I just have to go with it!

Waterloo Sunset by the Kinks

Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don’t need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset’s fine

Terry meets Julie, Waterloo Station
Every Friday night
But I am so lazy, don’t want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I don’t feel afraid
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise

Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is the evening time
Waterloo sunset’s fine

Millions of people swarming like flies ’round Waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And they don’t need no friends
As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset
They are in paradise

Waterloo sunset’s fine

The View

This is the view from my sun bed in the orchard of the Gite that we are staying in at the moment in Brittany.

As you can see it is a lovely and peaceful view. The silence is almost total and really adds to the view.

As I am on holiday I can show  you some other views too!

Josselin  town square.

Cafe where we had a drink this afternoon.

A Chateau.

In my view Brittany is a beautiful place!

Thursday Photo Prompt: Broken a Nonet.

This is part of Sue Vincent‘s  Thursday Photo Prompt. Rules and Pingback here

This week’s prompt is Broken.

Don’t climb the ancient walls, the sign said.
You might just fall and break your head.

But youth always knows better .

The old walls know the truth

They’d smile if they could

Climb high on me.

Oh! You slip
