This is part of RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Challenge. 110 Change and Mind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Change for changes sake
Is always a big mistake
Mind you’re true not fake
Mind over matter
Change the rules watch them shatter
All mad as hatters
Stay with me he said
Change your mind and come to bed
Our future is dead.
Two Feet and Four Paws.
In the early morning quiet
Feeling the first warmth of the sun
Mist on the grass startled bird in flight
Peace before another day has begun.
Two feet and four paws move in tandem
This path is ours we know it well
Fate has us together yet it is not random
Two feet, four paws breaking the dawn’s spell.
Gently we cross the fields of green
Four paws faster than two feet
In the early morning quiet we are seen
Together and happy we are complete.
A picture of the hubby walking Ruby. Why not a photo of me ….. Because I was walking her and there was no one to take a photo of Ruby and me at 6.30 am!
Here is one of Ruby after her return !
This is part of Song Lyric Sunday and the theme for this week is to share a song you’ve heard recently for the first time and fell in love with. It is open to anyone who wants to share music, so please feel free to click the link, read the rules and post one of your own.
Song Lyric Sunday is the brain child of Helen Espinosa of This life One Word at a time. Pingback and Rules here.
Now this is very hard for me because I love most songs. So what am I to do, what song can I choose.
Well I love Fine Frenzy. I discovered her because someone recommend her on a website I was using at the time called Last F M.
I listen to one track and fell in love with the whole Album which is called One Cell In The Sea
I bought the album and have loved it ever since. I have bent the rules as this was not a song I heard recently but I loved it at first hearing and still do!! I do love this song and the whole Album I really hope you do too!
A FINE FRENZY LYRICS
“The Minnow & The Trout”
I was lost and found myself swimming in your mouth
Help me chief
I’ve got to plans for you and me
I swear upon this riverbed
I’ll help you feel young again
Not your every day circumstance
Hummingbird taking coffee with the ants
Please, I know that we’re different
We were one cell in the sea in the beginning
And what we’re made of was all the same once
We’re not that different after all
Help me out said the eagle to the dove
I’ve fallen from my nest so high above
Help me fly
I am too afraid try
Now saddled with a fear of heights
I’m praying you can set me right
Not your everyday circumstance
Elephant sharing peanuts with the rats
And I said
Please, I know that we’re different
We were one cell in the sea in the beginning
And what we’re made of was all the same once
We’re not that different after all
We are tied in history
Connected like a family
Please, I know that we’re different
We were one cell ienzyn the sea in the beginning
And what we’re made of was all the same once
All the same
We’re not that different after all
LindaGHill at Life In Progress has said: your prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is : Cash: use it in your post as a verb,noun or a name. Enjoy.
We have a new badge for Stream of Consciousness posts for the next year, which we can all display. Well done to John Holton
Cash!
One and two make three
Some for you and some for me
Cash turns the word around.
ACOSTIC CASH
Could you lend me fifty p.
As I did not bring any cash with me.
Should you lend me the luka
Heaven will reward you supadupa!
Cash Prose
I like to have some cash in my purse, and being English I mean a money purse and not a huge Handbag as my American cousins will assume.
I am digressing already, sorry. I like to carry a little cash with me at all times because even though we have credit,debit and touch cards you need cash for parking, going into some public conveniences .
I also like to have cash for a cup of coffee or a tip for the hairdresder,the manicurist or paying at the local shops.
I find it comforting to have cash with me for many reasons and so I for one will continue to carry cash for as long as it exists!
That’s all for now as my SoCs has run out!!
Happy Saturday everyone!
It’s A Winner!
Another year another badge, congratulations to John Holton at https://thesoundofonehandtyping.wordpress.com/ great badge!And thank you Linda for organising😍😘
For most of the day yesterday the race for our new Stream of Consciousness Saturday badge was a close one. When I posted last night’s reminder, Willow’s “Wildflowers,” JoAnna’s “Rocks and Water,” and John’s “Digital Sky” were neck in neck for the lead. Trailing not far behind were Helen’s “Fast-Moving Stream,” Deborah’s “Firework Fantasy,” Dale’s “Thoughts,” and “ KG’s “Long and Winding Road” in that order.
Then I posted my reminder to vote and one badge took off! Though most of the other badges gained votes, the winner became clear. By a landslide, with 38% of the votes, the winner is…
Oh wait. I should take a moment to honour our outgoing badge. Thank you for serving us so well for the past year. And here’s hoping our friend “Hope Floats” returns to WordPress soon! We miss you!
So now, without further ado…
except for a drum roll…
of course…
Nothing is new under the Sun
As far as she could see, the dark clouds were rolling in
As they always had shading her life,in dark shrouds.
The wharf and weft of clouds getting under her skin.
She was used to ignorance and the hate of the crowd.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
The crows took the light from her eyes
Alone out on the moors no one heard her cries.
Pangs of hunger attacked her and slowly she breathed her last.
No one to see or care her sin had made her an outcast.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
She had followed her feelings true
No matter her body she was a woman.
Her body was wrong she was female, she knew.
They call her Tom and made her a man.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
When they found her dressed as her kind
They accused her of being a witch or a demon.
No mercy was shown, beaten and stripped her hands tied behind.
She was dragged through the village and up the hill.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
The parts of her body she hated the most
Exposed for all to see,they screamed ‘ he be a man’
She closed her mind to the horde and the host.
Worst of all they then dressed her as a man.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
They hoisted her high at midnight.She had been beaten all day
She silently suffered, closed down her mind and just prayed.
No one looked back on her , no pity or care as they walked away
Those she had loved had her to the elders betrayed.
Soaked by the rain,battered by wind and baked by the sun
The best kept secrets of her soul unraveled and became un-done.
When darkness came it was such a relief
She had no more to fear the worst had been done
As she left this world she shed all pain and grief
Tomasena’s soul, a beautiful woman circles the moon and the sun.
