Traya  looked  me  straight  in  the eye  and  said , ” Okay  Traya  just what is on your mind  what is it  that  you need  answers for? ” Well I was  astounded how  could  this older  me did  not  realize  why  I had questions. This  whole situation  was bizarre, I was here, goodness knows  where, my  friends  had disappeared along  the way . I was  sitting  here  being  asked  to  do  great  things  but  no one, no  one  had given  me  any  straight answers.

You’re joking” I replied, feeling my cheeks flush with rage. Traya assured me she was not and promised she would explain all as soon as was possible but for now we must get on with the job in hand.

You’re  our only hope,on you rests the future of humanity! Come on just trust me. l am you and I know what I am talking about! ” With that she grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the room.

You’re like the saviour knight from days of  yore. ” Traya the elder called over shoulder at me. ” I know this is all so confusing for you and we are asking a great deal but believe me, I , you, me we have to do this. I have done it all before and failed but I know you can do this.

No way ! My mind was screaming how could I be responsible for the whole of humanity? I must of been showing my emotions because older Traya stopped and hugged me and whispered in my ear.”We can do this , believe me we can do this, I know the mistakes I made and I will be inside your head every step of the way. ”

What ” I shouted ” You’re , going to be inside my head “. I was shaking now. “Yes” Traya smiled, “see that button on the door”, “yes” I replied, “well”  Traya smiled ” Push the Button! ”

cave

The Cave

Stomp, stomp, thump thump that’s the sound of my feet .

Pound pound that is the sound of my heart as it skips and jumps a beat.

Heat, nightmares fears

Blood rushing through my veins is the sound in my ears!

Black, black shivers down my back

Reaching out for the confidence I lack.

Creep,  crawl edging my way along the wall.

Must not  my back expose who knows

What evils in the darkness grows.

Blink, blink ,wink wink as my eyes strain to see  the light,

If I can make it, I’d be free outside  to  the air  and  the night.

Drip, drop, drip, plop the sound of my tears, they cut no ice

In this life you take what you get, the result of the throw a dice .

Drag, drag, scrape,scrape clank

The sound of my  chain as it yanks.

Tired, tired, exhaustion, exhaustion, pain pain ..

Fear, that shadow at opening  he will be  there again.

Makes me quiver and quake  and wet myself  just like it was before

No matter  how  close I  shall  never  escape, freedom no  more.

The priory on the Rim of Io

The  priory on the Rim of was the last of it’s kind almost forgotten by the rest of creation. …but not quite!

Stay away from the windows she had been told by grandfather and by Mother Superior both. They had impressed upon her the importance of her presence  being  there was to be a secret. The Nuns were all delightful and so kind but they, being a silent order could only speak to her between the hours of six and eight pm. So even though they did their best to entertain their guest she was lonely.

She spent her days , happily in the priory and it’s gardens, the smell of the strange flowers native to Io calming and soothing her. Her nights she was enthralled by the other three Galilean moons that orbit Jupiter.

Keep away from the windows at night they all told her, you must not be seen. Your condition will give you away.

She did try but the spectacular light that was generated by Io and the other three moons of Jupiter was enthralling.

Stay away from the windows they had begged her but the lights already had a hold on her.

And so it was that she , the last pregnant woman in the  Universe, the last pregnant woman in thirty years stood at the window watching the lights washing over Io.

Sadly  the bounty hunters from Mars saw her at the window, they saw her long hair and pregnant belly, too young, too beautiful to be an ancient Nun.

What future the Universe the only pregnant woman in thirty years held to ransom. All because she could not resist looking out the window.

Song Lyric Sunday: Anger

The  very  busy   and  talented  Helen Espinosa  of  This Life  One  Word At A Time  has  set us  a new Song Lyric Sunday  prompt , she said :  “Our theme for Song Lyric Sunday is to post a song that explores anger.  (I know anger is a secondary emotion, so maybe that isn’t the best word choice, but I think it’s broad enough we should be able to come up with something.)  “

There  are  songs  about  anger and  there are songs about ANGER! The songs  I have picked  are  about ANGER  that  builds up between couples, it  builds  and  builds  until it  explodes like a venomous boil!

I can really  empathize  with  the lyrics  of  this  first song, I have been  there  and  suffered  the  rage  and  the vile  words. The  words  pick up  perfectly  the  atmosphere  between  the  couple  on the  way  home  from  a night out . They have had  to put on  a united  face  all evening    but now  alone  they  can  no longer  keep  their  anger under wraps  and  it  explodes!  This  is  a brilliant  song  and I am  sure  many of  you  will recognise  the  feelings  expressed  so  will  within it  by  my  favourite  Immie !

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

“The Beast”

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we goI can sense in opening the front door as we came in
You were burning a hole in my back
Can we turn this around from where we lost you in the evening
Before things get out of hand
One by one eyes go optic, we’re becoming the beast
Shear power and the heat of hate brings our army of two to its knees
Steel lungs are shouting the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we go

All fired up, you’re a hot mess getting messier
I’d do anything for sleep
But I can think of far better ways to waste your energy
If you can bare to still touch me
One by one skin hardens, we’re becoming the beast
Shear power in the heat of hate brings our army of two to its knees
Steel lungs are screaming the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Have we left, have we left the building?
Did we die a little death?
Is this the end of the road for us, no more bridges for us to burn left?
Do we finally find ourselves at the point of no return?

One by one, we’re becoming the beast
Sheer power in the heat of hate brings our army to its knees
Steel lungs are shouting the house down, going for the kill from the kiss
Battle stations are now navigation, have we driven love to this?

Gently as we go, gently as we go
Steady as we go, steady as we go

Song  written  by  Imogen Heap

Also another  great  song  about  anger  also  by Immie  is,  The  Moment I  Said It .  It  catches  the feeling  when  you  spark  that  huge argument in the  middle of  the night   and all hell lets loose!

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

“The Moment I Said It”

The moment I said it
the moment I opened my mouth
lead in your eyelids
Bulldozed the life out of me
I know what you’re thinking
But darling you’re not thinking straight
Sadly things just happen…. we can’t…… explainIt’s not even light out,
But you’ve somewhere to be – no hesitation
No I’ve never seen you like this
And I dont like it, I dont like it, I dont like it at all

Just put back the car keys
or somebody’s going to get hurt
who are you calling at this hour
sit down, come round , I need you now
we’ll work it all out together
we’re getting no where tonight
now sleep, I promise, it’ll all seem better somehow
in time

It’s not even light out
Suddenly, you’ve somewhere to be
No hesitation
mmm…I’ve never seen you like this
Your scaring me, Youre scaring me,
Your scaring me to death

Don’t..oh, smash….please
Don’t…oh…..and another one
Don’t…oh…..and another one

I’m losing you…….I’m losing you

Trust me on this one
I’ve got a bad feeling
Trust me on this one
You’re going to throw it all away
With no hesitation

Bye bye bye bye bye bye
bye bye bye bye bye
bye bye bye
bye

Lyrics  by  Imogen Heap

Stream Of Consciouness Saturday

When I was s little girl I loved , what was to me exotic fruit, that we only had at Christmas.

To me the most exciting and tasty was the date. Now there was not the choice we have today we always had  the  common  date  from  the  date  palm the Delget  Nour  which  looked  like  these.

Image  from here

Now  these  dates  have a  long  narrow  stone  with   an O in the  middle  of it. Probably  this O is  to do  with  the  stem or  the  stork   and how the  fruit  grows on  the palm. That  is  the  logical  and  scientific answer   but  my  father  told  me  a story  when I  was  little  and I  prefer  to  believe  what he told me.

date_stones_closeup

Image  from  here

If  you look  closely  at  the  dates stones in  the the photo  you  will see  that  those which are  placed  the right  way up  you can see  the O .

Well back  to the  story  that  Dad  told  me. “When Mary  and Joseph had  to  travel  from  Nazareth  to   Bethlehem Mary had a craving  for  something sweet. She  told  Joseph  and  he  was  dismayed to have to  tell here  there  was nothing he  could give  her.  They  moved on a  little  way  and   came  to  some  date trees. Joseph  picked  some dates  for Mary  and  she  delightedly  said  Oh!  because  they  were  moist and sweet! Just  what she wanted! ” So  my  Dad told  me that  was  the  reason  there is always  an O  on  the  stone  of  the date.

Well I love  my  Dad’s story  and I told it  to  all my  children  and  if  I  ever  get  the chance  I  shall  tell  my  grandson  too!
