Beautiful Willow. Here’s a funny story: We have a few major motorways around Ottawa and the more rural ones that bring traffic to and from the city are hard to maintain. The Dept of Highways has been experimenting with ways they can maintain the median and sides without mowing. They tried grass that stopped growing but then it turned brown and became a fire hazard. Then they started planting wildflowers – that look identical to your pictures Willow. This was just turning the soil and spraying a wildflower mix on the ground. Apparently it was quite expensive but it looked gorgeous and they thought they had their fix. But then the flowers started disappearing. It turned out that people were stopping to pick the flowers. So, this year hundreds of signs have appeared”Wild Flowers – Do Not Pick” Ha!

Hello, Willow. First of all, it was lovely to meet both you and your Son at The Bloggers Bash on Saturday. Thank you so much for joining in my weekly photo challenge. I love wildflowers, and I can see why you love walking your dog in that wide open space. I’m hoping to have a garden of wildflowers this Summer. I won’t be doing the planting, but my partner has already done all the hard work in planting it up…thank goodness. He plants and I write. 😃
    My best wishes to you.
    Hugh

Lovely pics–I live in a forest, and I love it. But the feeling of coming to an open space, seeing the heavens open up to forever, can be a cherished oasis as well. Thanks for sharing yours. 🙂
