~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cloud Walker
They called him Cloud for short, the boy with a dream
Laughing behind his back. They had not seen what he had seen.
As he grew he did not worry what people had to say
Shunning school he leaned the ancient way.
He lived by the sun, the moon and the star
But it was the clouds that influenced him more by far.
His mother knew he was unlike the others, knew he was blessed
By nature’s knowledge and would live apart from the rest.
One day while out climbing he suddenly knew what he must do
He stepped out on to a cloud and followed where the eagle flew.
No one ever saw him again after that day
His mother knew he was safe and up in the clouds, dragons to slay.
They called him Cloud for short, the boy with a dream
Laughing behind his back. They had not seen what he had seen.
As he grew he did not worry what people had to say
Shunning school he leaned the ancient way.
Dear lady…. This is excellent! Your poetry has matured, as it does for us all over time; it is a great pleasure to see such beauty, powerful emotion, and grace of expression; a wonderful poem….
Nicely done, milady….
