This mask I wear is crumbling falling
Away, melting and slipping down
Don’t look I am appalling
My true face brings a frown
Seared skin melting fast
No more caring
Smiling mask
Now see
Me

But we’d see a very different you if we saw your spirit and what’s in your heart.

I enjoyed this. And immediately thought….we shouldn’t have to wear a mask.

Lovely post. Our real faces are what God created and sees. He of course thinks they are absolutely beautiful and wishes we would stop covering them. Easier said than done…;)

Very very true Tricia you put it perfectly?

Sometimes, smiles are over-rated. It’s great when we can smile, but our real selves have all kinds of feelings that don’t all involve smiling. It’s sad (no smile) that we think that we have to pretend to be “happy” no matter what. Life isn’t really like that. Weird expectations we’ve heaped upon ourselves.

So true Deborah but a real smile is worth it’s weight in gold!! ❤
