Haiku Horizons prompt “ground”

Falling fast and  ever down

She closes her  eyes

Just before  she hits  the  ground

One day she’ll be brought to ground

Even Stephen?

Even Stephen had a right to life

But it was snatched away by the blade of a knife.

Snatched away on the dark night 22nd April 1993.

Five or six youths with knives, if that is even Stephen, I fail to see.

Even Stephen  had a right to an unbiased investigation

Did it happen … not at first  but his mother’s protests rocked the Nation.

It was not even Stephen, what those boys did

It was not even Stephen that evidence and statements were twisted and hid.

Even Stephen had a mother true and strong

She has fought for justice for  him making sure she’d right the wrongs.

Was it even Stephen that you’ve  been robbed of twenty years.

Stolen, your future, your hopes and dreams and all your fears!

Was it even Stephen  that you had to die that night

But for changing buses you’d  not of seen those boys, not died in your final flight.

You have left a legacy its true  changed laws and procedures too

Was it even Stephen  that they laid a plaque for you

Was it even Stephen that they vandalized it several times too.

Even Stephen,  when was it ever, even for you?

Stephen Lawrence

I  thought  of  Stephen Lawrence  tonight  and  so  I  re-posted  this  poem  that I  wrote  about  him  in  2013. God  rest  your  soul Stephen life  was  never even  for  you. You  deserve  to be remembered!

Black & White

What  they  said  is  not  quite  right

Just  no shades of grey

It is  simply Black and  White

Challenge #73

Here  is  the  pingback  and  the  rules.

If we were having coffee: 29/11/2015

If we  were having coffee:The  weather  is  getting  distinctly  wintry, fogs, rain, frost  and  cold so  lets  all go inside  and  be  comfy by  the fire.  I  can  still entertain  you  all  with tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

If we were having Coffee: I would  remind  you  that  there  are lots of  other  coffee mornings  all shared  and organized  By  Diana  and  Gene’O  over at,Part time monster

Do join in

If we were having  coffee:   I would have  to  say  sorry  I have  still had  no  word  from Paul  and  none  of  his other  blog  hosts  have  heard  from  him either. Please  Paul if  you are  out  there  know  we  are praying  for  you  each in our  own ways!

If we were having  coffee:  I would  have  to  say that  this  week  has  been  busy  and  I  really  don’t  know  where  the  time has  gone! This  aside  I  have  still not  been  very well  still so not  much  to  report  this  week!

I went  shopping  with  my  friend  on Wednesday, Christmas  shopping….. not  my  favourite  pastime  but it had  to be  done!

Friday  evening  we had  friends  round  for  drinks  and nibbles  and  lots of  laughs. Saturday  we had  the  mother in  law  round  for  a  Chinese   meal  in  the  evening. The on  Sunday  we  had  some  really  good   and  wonderful  friends  round  for  dinner  and  low  and behold  the  Newbie  and  his  Dad  came  for a  visit  and  we had  a lovely  afternoon.

If we  were having  coffee :  I  would  tell  you  I  am so  tired  and have  a headache  that I  cannot  do  this post  properly  so I  shall have  to  apologize  and  say  I hope  to  do better  next  week! IMG_20151129_155706215-001

And of course  the

SONG LYRIC SUNDAY: Chasing Cars

Okay  it is  Sunday  again  and  time  for  Helen Espinosa’s  SONG LYRIC SUNDAY.

Today I have  picked  a song  from another  of  my  favourite  groups Snow Patrol. The  song  I have  chosen  is  about  being  so in love  with  someone  and  just  wanting  to be  there  with  them in  that  moment,  all  your  life.

I am sure  we have  all been in  love like that  at one  or moments in our lives. To love  so much it hurts……….  It  can be  any kind of love and  my  there are  so  many kinds of love.

and  the lyrics

“Chasing Cars”

We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see

I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Stream of Consciousness Saturday: Stuff, Stuffed ,Stuff!

OKAY! Now  Linda  is  away  in Japan  and  she  has  left  this  endearing  renegade in charge  his  name  is

PAVOWSKI

Now  this  Pavowski said: That prompt is “stuff.” Simple, right? Ehh, maybe, maybe not. You could go direct: literal, basic. Stuff as a thing is pretty ubiquitous. Or you could go all metaphorical, even symbolic. You might even, if you’re feeling saucy, use “stuff” as a root and wander into the wild realms of the participle (stuffed) or the progressive (stuffing) or even the gerund (also stuffing, sorry for the English Teacher wheelies). One request: whether you feel saucy or not, please don’t actually mention sauce. Or do, but be prepared that I might hork all over your blog if you do.

Okay  well I  am  going  to  stay  on  the  subject  of  turkeys but  my  turkey  is  for Christmas  and  so  has  a little  longer  to  stuff it’s face  and  range  free!

Now  I have  had  the  mother  of  all stresses   ordering  my  said  bird! It  has  been  the  stuff of nightmares. I have  in fact  made four  or is it five  calls to  sort  out  my  festive  order. The  entire  thing  has  left  me feeling  much  less  than  festive   and  ready  to  stuff  the  turkey  up  the  the  supplier in  question’s rear end!

All that  stuff  aside  as I said I have finally  got  my  bird  ordered  and I have  my  conformation  email to prove it!

The  next big  question  will be  what  shall I  stuff it  with? sage and onion, sausage meat, apricot and  apple, mushroom, bacon, mushroom and  herb, bread  and  celery  or  last  but  not  least sausage , apple  and  cranberry. Yes  so  much stuff  to  put into  stuffing!

So if  Christmas  is  the  stuff of  dreams, and  we  are  the  stuff of  life  I am totally  stuffed  because  I  am exhausted  already   and  I have only  just  made it past  the  first  hurdle!….. What other  nasty  stuff is  hiding  out  there  to  ambush  me…. bad  tempered  elves on the rampage, drunk  abusive  Father Christmases  who have  stuffed  themselves  full of  mince pies  and  sherry, Tree  fairies  who  refuse  to  take  their place atop  the tree ( mind  you  who  would in  all honesty  enjoy  half  a  fir tree up  their bum? )  .

So  before I  get  stuffed, or  get stuffing  I  am going  to  put  my  feet up  and  re-read  my  so  hard  fought  for  confirmation  email and  all the other  stuff can  go get stuffed for  now!

Here is  the  pingback

and  here  are  the  rules

Thursday

Thursday, tired ,wet and  cold  day

Rushing round  town day, meet for  coffee day

Home wet  day , heavy shopping day

Write  the Christmas  cards day.

Nothing much else to  say  day!
