Sunday Song lyric: Better get to living!

As much  as  it grieves  me  I  have  to  say  Dolly  Parton  writes  some  brilliant  songs  with so  much meaning! Well I fell in  love  with  this  little  ditty  then I  accidentally  found  this  young  man’s  version of  the  words! His interpretation  has  inspired  me on  and off  over  the  years  since I  found  it! so  please  enjoy!

“Better Get To Livin'”

People always comin’ up to me and askin’
“Dolly, what’s your secret?
With all you do, your attitude
Just seems to be so good
How do you keep it?”
Well, I’m not the Dalai Lama, but I’ll try
To offer up a few words of advice.

You better get to livin’, givin’
Don’t forget to throw in a little forgivin’
And lovin’ on the way
You better get to knowin’, showin’
A little bit more concerned about where you’re goin’
Just a word unto the wise
You better get to livin’.

A girlfriend came to my house
Started cryin’ on my shoulder Sunday evening
She was spinnin’ such a sad tale
I could not believe the yarn that she was weavin’
So negative the words she had to say
I said if I had a violin I’d play.

I said you’d better get to livin’, givin’
Be willing and forgivin’
Cause all healing has to start with you
You better stop whining, pining
Get your dreams in line
And then just shine, design, refine
Until they come true
And you better get to livin’.

Your life’s a wreck, your house is mess
And your wardrobe way outdated
All your plans just keep on falling through
Overweight and under paid, under appreciated
I’m no guru, but I’ll tell you
This I know is true.

You better get to livin’, givin’
A little more thought about bein’
A little more willin’ to make a better way
Don’t sweat the small stuff
Keep your chin up
Just hang tough
And if it gets too rough
Fall on your knees and pray
And do that everyday
Then you’ll get to livin’.

The day we’re born we start to die
Don’t waste one minute of this life
Get to livin’
Share your dreams and share your laughter
Make some points for the great hereafter.

Better start carin’
Better start sharin’
Better start tryin’
Better start smiling
And you better get to livin’…

If we were having Coffee: Chateaux and ghosts

unnamed (38)

Boussay Chateau

Welcome  everyone  especially  Sheri  who  arrived  last  night  sleeping  bag  in  hand.  Now  I  have  explained  that  the  internet is  very  sketchy  around  here, in  the Rhone  Alps!

Now  I  have  decided  that  we  shall  travel back  to  Boussay  and  that  beautiful  Chateau  that I  felt  so  sorry  for! Let’s  bring it  to life  for  a  few  hours  if  only  virtually. We  can  throw  cushions  and  drapes  around  ,  maybe  you  could  all  bring  your own! We  can  have a  party  here  a  tea  party  and  breath  some  virtual  life into  the  sad  empty  place.

Don’t  worry  everything  is  as it  always  is  with tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

If we were having  Coffee: I would ask  you what  has been going on in your world this week, has  anything  deeply affected  you, have  you need a sympathetic ear, a shoulder to cry  on or  just  needed someone  to make  you laugh! If  yes  feel free to talk it out  here  with us. We will all help if  we can.

Lets  join  everyone  here  and  all the  other  “IF  WE  WERE  HAVING  COFFEES”

If we were having Coffee: I would  remind  you  that  there  are lots of  other  coffee mornings  all shared  and organized  By  Diana  and  Gene’O  over at,Part time monster

Paul who is  over  at  Mark Bialczak   in Syracuse this  week  and  all this  month. So  don’t  forget  to visit  him  over  there! I  shall be  later!

If  we  were having  coffee: I would  welcome  you  to  this  wonderful place  and  ask  you how  you have  all been. Now  although  we  are  not  still in  Boussay   my  thoughts  are  dragged  back  there  by  the  beautiful  but  empty  Chateau. The owner  who  was 95yrs  old  and  lived in  two  rooms  of  the  Chateau  toward  the  end of  his  life  only  died in  May  of  this year….. imagine  that  old  man alone in  a huge  chateau  with  all his  memories  and ghosts.

Now  If  we  were  having  coffee : although  we are in  a wonderful  place  with  mountains, swimming  pool and  lovely  hosts  I  am  still  drawn  back  to  the  chateau. I  hope  you  are  enjoying  our  sojourn here! I  have  to  dash off  now  as I  have  not  enough  time  to  stay  as long  as I  would  like  also  not  enough  wifi! So  please  stay  and  enjoy  I  am with you  in  spirit …just  like  the  ghosts  of  the    chateau!

I  shall love  you  and leave  you  all to  enjoy  I  am  putting  my  feet up  now  and  taking  in the  view  so  come  and  join  me  or  wander  over  to see Paul who is  over  at  Mark Bialczak   in Syracuse this  week  and  all this  month. Let us  see  what  they are  all discussing  ! It has  been lovely  as always  to have  you all here  and  I  hope,  as does  Paul  that  you will all join us here and  at Mark Bialczak ‘s again  next  week.

And of course  the
