Night’s Weave

You  set  me  spinning

My  spirits  winging

Shooting  out on  silken tendrils

Pinging  back  hooked up  on  spindles.

Up into  the black  starry  sky

Floating  free I  soar  and fly.

Silken  webs I  spin  and  turn

Catching  dreams  then  watch  them burn.

Uplifting, a  glorious  high

I don’t need  wings to  zoom  and fly.

I can’t  believe  this  glorious  night

Among  the  star  I  float like  a kite

You  set  me  spinning

My  spirits  winging

Shooting  out on  silken tendrils

Pinging  back  hooked up  on  spindles.

There is something that touched me here. The idea of “catching dreams and watching them burn.” At first, that seemed like a sad thing, but then I realized that it actually is very freeing. It makes the act of dreaming so much roomier, almost without limit, because not every dream has to be pursued. In some cases, touching the dream even for a few moments has untold power to help fuel those that I do intend to follow. Thanks, Willow! 🙂
