Gentle lapping of the ceasless waves
Calling out to those in the graves.
Weather beaten, sun bleached stones
Covering long cold bones.
Mourners walk in single
File. Cold winds bite.
Gulls cry, here
Comes the
Storm.

This really has a lot of depth for me Willow. The picture with the ocean behind the graveyard feels very homey to me – there is a similar graveyard where I grew up. The iron grey of the cross against the grey sky and blue ocean are very attractive. Mourners and gull cries filling the graveyard – been there done that.
I really like this poem and picture Willow. 😀

This is a picture from an area called The Dartmouth Commons looking over the Halifax Harbour to Halifax. There is a cemetery here behind the photographer.

My Mum was born about 1/2 mile behind the photographer, just on the far side of the grave yard. Nan lived there until she passed away at 92. I lived within 5 miles of this scene for many years and went to Dartmouth High School, which is to the photographer’s right (out of frame) before university.
