Song Lyric Sunday : Say goodnight and Go!

Song Lyric Sunday

Fresh  from  an idea  from HELEN ESPINOSA’S  blog.  Here is  the  pingback

My  song  this  week , my  second  week,  is  an old  favourite  of  mine   from  Imogen Heap,” Say  goodnight  and  go. ‘

On  the  face of it  this  is  a very  happy  little  song  but on  closer  listening  to the lyrics  you  discover  that  it  is  a song

about a  stalker, who is infatuated  with  a  lad  she knows…..   Her  love is  totally  unrequited,she  wants  more  than  he has

to offer ! I  don’t  know  why  I just  love  the  song !

IMOGEN HEAP LYRICS

 “Goodnight And Go”

Say goodnight and go.
Woah woah. Woah woah

Skipping beats, blushing cheeks I am struggling
Daydreaming, bed scenes in the corner café
And then I’m left in bits recovering tectonic tremblings
You get me every time

Why d’ya have to be so cute?
It’s impossible to ignore you
Must you make me laugh so much
It’s bad enough we get along so well
Say goodnight and go

Follow you home, you’ve got your headphones on and you’re dancing
Got lucky, beautiful shot you taking everything off watch the curtains wide open
Then you fall in the same routine flicking through the TV relaxed and reclining
And you think you’re alone…

Why d’ya have to be so cute?
It’s impossible to ignore you
Must you make me laugh so much
It’s bad enough we get along so well
Say goodnight and go

One of these days, you’ll miss your train and come stay with me
We’ll have drinks and talk about things, any excuse to stay awake with you
You’ll sleep here, I’ll sleep there, but then the heating may be down again
at my convenience
we’d be good, we’d be great together.

[Sigh]
Go!

Say goodnight and go,
why’s it always always
goodnight and go
Darling not again
Goodnight and go

If we were having Coffee : Gardens, News, families

welcome one welcome all!

Hello  everyone  welcome  to  the garden  we have a marquee  and  heaters, all the garden  furniture  has  been washed  and  I have put out cushions for your  comfort.

Well what  do  you  think  shall  we  chance  it . Now  as  always  we have  tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you.

If we were having  Coffee: I would ask  you what  has been going on in your world this week, has  anything  deeply affected  you, have  you need a sympathetic ear, a shoulder to cry  on or  just  needed someone  to make  you laugh! If  yes  feel free to talk it out  here  with us. We will all help if  we can.

Lets  join  everyone  here  and  all the  other  “IF  WE  WERE  HAVING  COFFEES”

If we were having Coffee: I would  remind  you  that  there  are lots of  other  coffee mornings  all shared  and organized  By  Diana  and  Gene’O  over at,Part time monster

If we were having  coffee: I would  tell  you  just  how  much I  would like  to  pretend  that I have  all  the  time in  world  this  week  but  sadly  my  time is  very  clipped  today. We have  the  mother in  law  over  most  Sundays…. for  some  reason  neither  of  the husbands two  siblings seem  to  see fit  to  have  her  over, so  most  Sundays, outings  and Holidays  (  as our  American  friends  say, to  me  Christmas,Easter  and bank holidays  fall to us. ) Now  we  don’t  mind  but it  does  get  a  little  stressful  when  there are  other things  on  the cards  that  need  to be organized!….. Enough  I  am not  moaning   just  stating  facts!

If we were having  coffee:  I  would  tell  you  it has been a  strange  week  as I  have been under  the  weather and  spent  two  days in  bed  with stomach  ache. So it has  not been a normal  week  as I was unable  to get out and  do  most of  the usual  things  that  make  my  week  normal. I like  normal  it  makes  me  feel  safe  anything  else tends  to  upset  my  equilibrium!

Now  I  have  found  a very interesting   new  blog, on  first sight  it  appears  to be  a  cookery  blog  but  as  the posts  started  coming  to my  email I discovered  that  it is  also about  a  very  brave  and  courageous mother of  nine children’s account  of her  life  as a  foreigner living  and  married  to a  man in Saudi, she  has amazed  and inspired  me, also  I love  her  recipes. Do  pop  over  and  check out  at  Lynz real cooking. here  is  one of  her  triumphs  …go on  let’s  all have  a piece!

Mocha Cookie mousse

  If we  were having  coffee : I would  ask  what  are  the  big  things  that  affected  you  in the  news  this  week. As I said  I have been  out of  it  most of  the week  but  what  has seeped  through  to me is  that  the Number  of  Muslim  women  who  are taking off  for  Syria  to join isis  from this  country,the  UK , is  growing . Well okay  if  these women  feel  they  need  to  dessert  the life  they have  grown up  with over here and  want  to give up  every last  vestige  of  freedom then fine  they make  their own beds  let  them lie in them. But   they are  taking  children  with  them, some very young  children  too. Apparently  these  women are  doing  this  mad  exodus  without  their husbands  or  families knowing ?

It  started  with  young  men  being  radicalized by youtube  and  social media, then it  was young  girls  and  now  women  with  children  are  up  and  fleeing  into  what I can  only  see  as the unknown. Well if  young  men , girls  and  women  want  to leave  here  and  head out  to  join isis  so be it. Now  to my mind  their  actions  do not  come  without  consequences  if  they  go  they  can never return.   Let us  face it  how  could  they  ever  be trusted  not to turn against us? That  said  it is not  fair of  them to take  their children  with them, what  mother  can willing  take  their  children into a war  zone,  a place  where  women  are  treated  a cheap chattels  and  worth less  than  cattle. It pains  me  to say  this   but it  is  wrong . Read  here

Right  If  we were having coffee : Can I  get  you  a top up or  perhaps  you would like  something  stronger.

Liqueurs and coffee

If  we were having coffee : I would  ask  if  I  can fill up  your  cup, or  glass  or  get  you anything  else  to  eat  it is  all  calorie  free!

Let us  go  and Join Paul and the  gang  they  are  all over  at  Mark Bialczak  this  week and  see  what  they are  all discussing  ! It has  been lovely  as always  to have  you all here  and  I  hope,  as does  Paul  that  you will all join us here again  next  week.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday. Rage

LindaGHill said : Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “four-letter word.”  Use any four-letter word as your theme. Enjoy!

Here is  the pingback

Enjoy  I  can’t  enjoy,  I  am  so  burnt  up  with  rage . I am sick of  being  told  what  to  eat , drink ,  especially  how  much  wine I can  drink! What  to  wear  just  because I  do not  want  to  dress  like  everyone  else  does,  I have  my own tastes  and  if  they are  different  so  what…eh eh!! I like  the  way  I dress. I have  never  told  anyone  else  what  to  wear!

I  feel  the rage  growing inside  me  when  I am  told  what  I can  watch on TV  ….how  the hell old  am I. I get  indigestion  holding  down rage   when I  am told I  spend too much  time on  the computer……so bloody  what ! I  am not interested  in what’s on TV   so why  not  write  and  escape  into  a world  I  like, no love plug  myself into Imogen Heap  or Sia…. why  not , why  not?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rage , rage  scream  at  the  moon  shake  my  fist in rage
Shout  stamp my  feet lash out, rattle  the  bars of  my  cage.
Damn  Blast F##k  I am  a person  what use  to live  to an old age
If I am told  what  to  do, have  no fun , hardly  a life a plain page!
I want  to  drink what I want,when I want , not  smother  rage
Dance in  the rain  without  causing  a raised eyebrow
Wear an unusual  dress and  not  be  told  you look  fool now
I want  to me and make my  own mistakes, not burn with rage!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I said  at  the start of  the  stream of  consciousness that I  couldn’t  enjoy  writing  this post  because  I  am burning up  with RAGE , well that is  true  tonight  but I  did enjoy  letting off  steam!

Men  F###ing  Men….. apologies and  all  men on  wordpress  exempted …… unless  of  course  any of  you  start  telling  me  what I  can  and  cannot  write!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are the rules:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. Linda will post the prompt  on her blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance,  Linda  will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” or “Begin with the word ‘The’.”
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that Linda  and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of Linda’s post into yours.  Your link will show up in Linda’s comments, for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on Linda’s post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. Have fun!
The Return
Dunhill Castle
The  lonely  shadows  fall once more
Still here, I listen  to  the waves  fall upon the shore.
I want  to leave  and  walk under  the moon
In my heart I  know  my lover  will be returning  soon.
Cobwebs  dance like  silver chain mail  in candle light
I look out  through  the  gaping  holes into the night.
Is  he  coming  is he  near, be  still heart  I cannot  hear
Above  the  moaning  wind , if his steps draw near.
Gaping Holes
How long I have I been  sitting  here
Awaiting  the return of you,my  dear
Too long  for such a maid as I,  I fear
I’ve seen too much  of history  pass through here.
The sun  now  climbs  above  this  hill
Where  castle  and  my  spirit await  you  still
I can wait no longer  the  need  for  you  grows  stronger
I step outside into  the growing light, nought is  the same as I look yonder.
All is different
The  sea is  gone  though I  still here it’s song
This  does  not feel  right  there is  something wrong.
I feel weak here in the sun, my heart now still I begin to fade.
Has  my  wait  been in vain. Then I  spy  you  standing in the glade.
How long I have I been  sitting  here
Awaiting  the return of you,my  dear
Too long  for such a maid as I,  I fear
I’ve seen too much  of history  pass through here.
The  story  came  from my head  by  an idea  born by  reading  Jean’s post Socialbridge  Phunning Light.
All  photos  photos  except  the top one  are  from  Jean’s  post  too! Thank  you  Jean  for  me to  let  my  mind  meander  across your post!
Oneliner Wednesday: Miscomunication.
Stolen  from  Geoffle  at  TanGental
‘That’s exciting. How did he get the tickets. ‘ ‘He has debentures.’ ‘Really that’s so sad. He’s young to get Alzheimers isn’t he?’
Night’s Weave
You  set  me  spinning
My  spirits  winging
Shooting  out on  silken tendrils
Pinging  back  hooked up  on  spindles.
Up into  the black  starry  sky
Floating  free I  soar  and fly.
Silken  webs I  spin  and  turn
Catching  dreams  then  watch  them burn.
Uplifting, a  glorious  high
I don’t need  wings to  zoom  and fly.
I can’t  believe  this  glorious  night
Among  the  star  I  float like  a kite
You  set  me  spinning
My  spirits  winging
Shooting  out on  silken tendrils
Pinging  back  hooked up  on  spindles.
Acrostic : Desperation
Desperation bites when all is lost
Exhaustion demands  the full cost
Sleep evades  you,  what can you  do
Pacing, searching  for  what is true
Everlasting  pain  gnawing  at your brain
Raw agony  holds  you back from any gain
Anguish stalks  your  every  move   tying  you  down
To the lowest ebb your  soul has  ever found
Isolation  encircles  you  like ice it  chill you  through
Open  wounds in your  mind, fear leaking, drowning you.
Nothing  left, no love , no hope for  you .
