Daisy’s Fate

The noise  grew  as it  closed in on her, now  she could  feel  the  earth  shaking  and  shuddering  as this  terrible  thing  approached.  She  was terrified   and  visibly  trembled, drawing  herself  up  to her  full hight she took a  deep breath. I shall survive  she  told herself  it  would be too cruel  to perish  now  just as she had attainted  all her  goals.

The  noise  grew  and it was here, the  blades  sharp  as knives whirring  round, she  could hear  the screams and  cries of  the  others as they  were ripped  and chopped  and sucked in. Fear  took hold of her  and  she blanked out.

Finally  she realized, or rather  felt  that  the  noise  had  stopped  the  machine was gone and  she with a few others  were  still standing. She  felt  the sun  she  smelled  the  grass she was spared  she  was alive  and oh! it  felt  good.

She  surveyed  the scene  the carnage  so many  friends  and family  gone. Some  completely,  others  laying  mutilated  and  dying, softly  moaning.

A child  a little  girl  approached  her  they looked  at  each other  the  child reached out  NOOOOOOOOOOOO!  she screamed  but  the child unhearing  and unaware   reached out  and picked her ……. later  that  day  she was abandoned  and  she  slowly  withered  and  died, joining  her  slaughtered  friends  and family.
