SoCs: All for Naught a Nonet

Did I work  and  care  for all of  them

Tending  to their  every need not

Realizing  it was all

For naught. Since I  cut that

Umbilical Knot

I was not on

Their minds

All for

Naught?

I love this poem! It’s hard to write a good poem using SOC, but this one is very meaningful.

I like the title, Nonet like sonnet. The empty nest. But I don’t think the cord is ever really cut. It is there forever.

Ah, the feeling of being an under-appreciated mom, eh? I think there’s an element of that for all of us. Great poem, Willow. 🙂
